### Chapter Seven:

The van jostled and bounced as it traversed the uneven terrain, it was already evening, the sky was dark, luckily each houses had light which made every where visible, it was so different from Luminae, where houses are made of trees, everywhere was filled with green grasses, here houses were built with bricks although beautiful but so different, everyone was dressed doing their thing, Valerie knew it would take time to adjust to the new environment.

Valerie and the other girls were so worried, they've never ventured out if the boarder of their home town, they placed their hands together and prayed for guidance and ease.

As the van approached a grand, gothic building that loomed like a shadow against the sky, Valerie felt a knot tighten in her stomach. This was the Elite meeting house, the seat of power in Nocturnal, where the most influential vampires convened. The building's architecture was both beautiful and terrifying, with tall spires and intricate carvings that seemed to come alive in the dim light.

The van came to a halt, and the girls were quickly escorted out by a group of stern-faced vampires. Valerie's eyes darted around, taking in the austere surroundings and the cold, calculating gazes of their captors. She held her head high, determined not to show any fear, but inside, her heart pounded like a drum.

They were led into a grand hall, where seven imposing figures sat in a semicircle. These were the members of the Elite group, the most powerful vampires in Nocturna. At the center sat Azar, their leader, a tall, regal vampire with piercing eyes and an air of authority that commanded respect. His expression was one of barely concealed fury.

"Welcome to Nocturna," Azar intoned, his voice echoing through the hall. "I'm guessing you know why you're here as the chosen ones, but before any further decisions, we need to check whether you all are pure white faes, I can't have any intruders sneak into the place."

Valerie and the other girls exchanged nervous glances as the vampires approached with slender, silver needles. They pricked each girl's finger, collecting a drop of blood to test for purity. The process was quick and efficient, and within moments, the results were confirmed: all of them were pure white fays.

Azar nodded, satisfied. "Good. Now, we shall assign each of you to a member of the Elite group. You will be under our protection and supervision."

One by one, the girls were chosen by the members of the Elite. Valerie's heart raced as Azar's eyes met hers. "You," he said, his voice like a steel blade, "will come with me."

Valerie nodded, swallowing her fear. She followed Azar out of the meeting house and into a sleek, black car that waited outside. The ride to his mansion was silent, the atmosphere tense. Valerie's thoughts were a whirlwind of anxiety and homesickness. She missed Luminae's light, its warmth, and the sense of safety it had always provided.

As they arrived at Azar's mansion, a grand, imposing structure that loomed against the dark sky, Valerie felt a chill run down her spine. The mansion was a testament to the vampire leader's power and wealth, with high walls, iron gates, and an aura of impenetrability.

The doors swung open, and they were greeted by members of Azar's household, who regarded Valerie with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Among them was Dante, Azar's son, who had recently been ambushed by black fays. His eyes widened in recognition when he saw Valerie, but he said nothing, his expression carefully neutral.

"Take her to her room, by tomorrow we'll speak well" Azar said as he walked out of the house.

A maid led Valerie to her room, it was a simple one with a bed and a dresser,  the room had a large window which the moon light reflected through it. The light in the room was on.

Valerie nodded, her voice caught in her throat. She entered the room and closed the door behind her, feeling the weight of the day's events settle on her shoulders. She was far from home, surrounded by strangers, and yet she felt a glimmer of hope. She had seen a familiar face—Dante, the vampire she had rescued. Perhaps he would be an ally in this dark place.

Meanwhile, in the Elite meeting house, the seven members of the Elite convened to discuss the pressing matter of the black fays.

"This attack on Dante cannot go unanswered," growled Zane, a burly vampire with a scar running down his face. "The black faes grow bolder by the day. We must take decisive action."

"I agree," said Selene, a vampire with piercing green eyes and an air of deadly grace. "But we must be strategic. A direct assault could lead to unnecessary losses. We need to find their leader and cut off the head of the snake."

Azar nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Selene is right. We need intelligence on their movements and hierarchy. Dante's ambush was not a random attack; it was a calculated move. We must respond with equal calculation."

Lucian, a vampire with a sharp mind and a penchant for strategy, leaned forward. "I have been gathering information on the black faes. Their leader is a fae named Morwenna, ruthless and cunning. She has been consolidating power and gathering followers. If we can locate her, we can disrupt their operations."

"Then it is settled," Azar said, his tone final. "Lucian, continue your investigations. We will prepare our forces for a targeted strike. We must show the black faes that any attack on our kind will be met with swift and deadly retribution."

The meeting adjourned, and the members of the Elite dispersed, each contemplating the challenge ahead. The black faes were a formidable enemy, but the Elite were determined to protect their realm and their kind.

Back at Azar's mansion, Valerie sat on the edge of her bed, staring out the window at the dark, unfamiliar landscape. She missed Luminae with every fiber of her being, but she knew she had to stay strong. She had been chosen for a reason, and she would find a way to navigate this strange new world.

Valerie was too tired to even go down the stairs to eat, she brought out the food her mum packed for her and quickly gulped down a little, she said a silent prayer and lay on her bed, she sent a mind message to her parents saying she's ready in Nocturna, soon enough she fell asleep.
