LONGTAE

Waking up slowly, I became aware that something was restraining my hands and feet. Panic set in as I tried to move, only to find my limbs bound tightly. My head throbbed painfully, a dull ache spreading from my temples, but I forced my eyes open and took in my bleak surroundings. The room was devoid of any decor, just cold, bare walls.

My thoughts were a jumble, memories slowly piecing together. I had been on my way to the club to meet my cousins, Ayan, Ray, Gaipa and Bison. They had insisted on a night out, saying it was high time we had some fun together. But as I walked down a dimly lit alley, a van screeched to a halt beside me. Before I could react, strong arms grabbed me, and a cloth soaked in some chemical was pressed over my mouth. Darkness swallowed me as I lost consciousness.

"Yok, he's awake... This is the first time I've seen Ray dressed like this though. Isn't that rich boy always clad in designer duds? Why is he wearing that..." The cautious voice of a tall blonde guy finally made its way into my brain enough to make sense. Did they confuse me for Ray? And why would they do this to him? Did Ray get into more trouble?

Fear and indignation gripped me. I wanted to speak, but all that came out was a croak. My throat was parched and raw.

"Gram, go and talk to Sean. I'll take care of this, okay," a tall, lean man whose back was still turned to me said, pushing the blond guy out of the door. When he turned, large doe eyes met mine head-on, and my breath hitched in surprise. I was staring into the most beautiful face I had ever seen. His soulful eyes were framed by a chiseled face with high cheekbones and plump, pink lips. As he approached, a mole on his chin stood out, making his face even more attractive. My mind had an intense, contrasting reaction; part of me leaped with an excitement I'd never felt before, like a slow hum of electricity flowing through my veins, while the rational part of me warned that this man was trouble.

Self-preservation kicked in, and I moved backward as much as I could when he crouched beside me.

"How are you feeling? I'm sorry about this, but we had no other way of bringing you here without you throwing a tantrum. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you, Ray. Let me remove the ties for you," he said, moving to untie my hands. I flinched away, but he made no comment, simply loosening the bindings on my wrists and then my feet.

"Water, please," I managed to croak out. He immediately retrieved a bottle of water, opened it, and handed it to me. I drank greedily, the cool liquid soothing my parched throat, and felt a bit of relief wash over me. Despite the hydration, I was still shaking with fear, wondering just how much trouble Ray had unknowingly passed on to me.

"What do you want to eat, Ray? I'll ask my friend to get it for you," the handsome man asked in a calm, even comforting voice.

"Why do you keep calling me Ray? I am not Ray!" I finally managed to say clearly.

"What?" He looked startled and scrutinized my face closely, his eyes traveling over my entire body as if trying to determine if I was telling the truth or just being delusional.

"I said I am not Ray. I am Longtae! Ray is my cousin," I said, trying to sound tougher than I felt, even though my insides were quaking. "What kind of trouble did Ray have with you anyway? You got the wrong person!"

"Fuck!" the handsome kidnapper mumbled under his breath as he immediately stood up and rushed out of the room.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. Ray had always been involved in crazy things since I met him a year ago, but this was on another level. His father's illegal activities had clearly caught up with him. But he did say that he wasn't involved in that.

I unsteadily stood up and went near the door. There was an intense discussion among a group of people. Various voices argued how they did not know that Ray had a cousin who looked like him. I guess they will be surprised to know that there are actually five of us. We all closely resemble each other that if we dressed alike there will be chaos as to who is who.

From the conversation, I could gather they thought they could use Ray's safety to make his father come out and confess his crimes. And now, because of a mistaken identity, I was caught in the middle of it all. The only question was, how far would they go to achieve their goal?

As I sat there, trying to process everything, I could hear the muffled voices arguing outside the door die down. From the yelling and the indignation, I could tell they were not professional kidnappers and that was a relief, but it was still dangerous. The stakes were high, and I had to find a way out before things took an even darker turn.

I slowly made my way over to the single window I could see in the room, wanting to check if I could open it to crawl out. My hand was testing the latch on the window when a husky voice whispered in my ear, "Where do you think you're going little rich boy?"

Startled, I immediately moved back and almost fell, but a warm arm snaked around my waist, breaking my fall. I didn't even notice him coming in. At mere inches apart, his warm breath fanning my already heated face, I could see the sparks in those big dark eyes dancing merrily as he questioned my lame attempt at escaping with an amused grin on his face. Flames of desire roared through me as I noticed just how perfectly I fit into his arms, his touch kindling the fire that was already leaping to life with the mere sight of his handsome face and just how much, in this moment, I wanted to forget everything and kiss my abductor senseless.

Author's note:

Hello everyone!Welcome to a new era in my writing. As I embark on a series of stories that will be interconnected. This story is the first in the series.I will stick as much as I can to the nature of the characters but I will take some creative liberty to make minor tweaks to their behaviors and how they will be in general so don't be surprised if you will be seeing a whole other side of Longtae and Yok in this series.I hope you will have fun and please note that I am a write-when-you-can person so I cannot promise how many updates I can do but if I am on my creative streak I might be posting several chapters in a day, or do a daily but  then if a period comes that it will not be as regular rest assured there will be updates as soon as I can write them.Thank you.

How's the epilogue?🫣
