Sasuke walks towards Sakura and raises his hand to poke her forehead with the two of his fingers. He spoke in a casual, yet smooth tone.
"Maybe next time."
"Thank you, Sakura."
The pinknette's green eyes widened from his words. She never expected the day that he would thank her for everything she had done for him. With only his simple words, caused her to have a tint of blush creeping onto her cheeks feeling flushed from his thanks.
But she was glad he thanked her for something she had done a long time ago. Although, some part of her really wanted to hear him say his thanks to her, after the troubles that happened through some events in the past.
Sakura's thoughts were then pulled back when Kakashi tapped her shoulder and told her to come with him to gates with Sasuke. She agrees and goes with them.
While on the way to the gates of Konoha, the Uchiha steals a few glances at the pinknette behind him while their former sensei was beside her walking in the same phase as her. He averted his gaze and couldn't help but to form a small smile on his lips once he caught a glimpse of Sakura, and her hair as well. In the past few days ago, Sakura's hair has been growing ever since, and he was glad he gets to see the genin hairstyle on Sakura yet again.
Little did Sasuke know, Kakashi noticed the way he has been glancing at Sakura while they walk and that little smile he was able to take a glimpse of. Behind Kakashi's mask, a smile formed underneath it and a quiet chuckled escaped from his mouth.
Once they have reached the gates, before Sasuke could go on to his journey, Kakashi gives out a few advices to him before heading off. While Kakashi kept talking to the Uchiha, Sasuke's eyes were focused on Sakura instead of his teacher, though, he was still listening to Kakashi's advices while keeping his eyes to the Pink haired girl in front of him.
"She's really pretty with long hair, especially now that she's older." Sasuke thought.
And with Kakashi's final advice, he says his goodbye to the raven haired boy and he heads off on his own. While Sakura frowned watching Sasuke leave again and her eyes went down towards the ground as her head also went down, she'll start missing him now... But she can worry about that later, he did say, "Maybe next time." It'll probably be a long time before he returns back here.
