I had arranged to meet some friends for a milkshake at Bar de la esquina, which was literally called "the bar on the corner". When I arrived, everyone had already arrived and I greeted them. We sat down to order milkshakes from the waiter. Every time we came, we ordered the same thing. The milkshakes they made at this bar were the best in the city. I ordered a white chocolate milkshake with whipped cream on top, one of my favorites, it was deliciously good. They also ordered theirs. When the waiter brought us our order, I noticed that Elena was a little different. It seemed like she had gained some weight, but maybe my eyes were deceiving me. It had been a few months since I had seen her because she was always busy with work.
"I see you've noticed. " Elena said, noticing that I had been staring at her.
"What?! What?! " I said, surprised, not realizing the situation.
"It's okay! You're not the only one that this happens to. " she continued telling me with a smile on her face. "The other day Maite had exactly the same thing happen to her."
" I'm pregnant! " Elena suddenly said. "What I don't have is a godmother, let me think... I know! You'll be the godmother. " What do you say? " She told me with a super excited expression on her face.
"Of course! Of course! Congratulations Elenita. " I told her giving her a huge hug of joy.
"You deserve it, you're the first friend I made after I moved from Scotland to here and it's been 10 years now. " She smiled at me and gave me another hug before continuing to drink our milkshakes.
After Elena was 9 months pregnant, we went to visit her at the hospital where she was crying with emotion with the children in her arms, she had given birth to two beautiful twins, there were also our friends and a young boy more or less our age who caught my attention, he didn't look like he was from here, and he had a mysterious air.
"Regina, come, I want to introduce you to Caleb. " Elena told me, making a gesture for me to approach the bed where she was lying with the children.
"Nice to meet you Regina " I said to him while we shook hands.
"Caleb, I say the same. " He told me with a smile putting his hands in the pockets of his jogging pants. - Elena has spoken very well of you, and I must say that you are more beautiful in person.
"Elena? " I said through my teeth. " Did you even show him a photo, really?"
" Elena is always playing matchmaker, but don't worry, at the moment I am taking a long break from men. " I said to disguise the situation a little.
" Well Caleb, how come I haven't met you before? " I asked looking him up and down, and thinking about how well he had trained his body, which I had to quickly remove from my mind since I was starting to sweat and my heart was racing, thinking about what things I could do with that body.
" Well... because I'm not from here, I live with my father in the Netherlands. " He said with a smile. " I only came because Elena called me that the children had already left, and being her best friend and godfather of the children I have double duty to come."
"Do you live alone with your father? " I asked him out of curiosity, not knowing if I was entering into a delicate subject.
At that moment I saw how Caleb's face changed, to a depressed and sad expression, but at the same time it seemed that he was also angry, at that moment I knew that I had asked something that I shouldn't have gotten into.
" I'm sorry, I didn't want to get into where I shouldn't. " I said apologetically.
"Then why do you ask? " He said suddenly with an angry expression, his mood having changed completely.
