Hope and Eyelume arrive at the place Hope had been asked to bring him to.
It's a beautiful garden, warm and full of wildlife and trees, and sitting calmly on a bench next to a river, Sun waves at them."Good to see you Hope, I see you brought the child as I asked you to.
You can go now, I'll bring him back to you when I'm done speaking to him."Hope nods calmly and turns her head toward Eyelume, she has a cold look in her eyes, as if she sees Eyelume as nothing but a mistake.
"Don't disrespect this man if you want to stay alive..."
Hope leaves the place, giving a discreet sign of goodbye to Sun as she walks away.
Eyelume looks at the man, Sun sure isn't threatening, he wonders why she even said that to him.
He decides to come sit down next to him, as he sits, he can catch a glimpse of Sun's peaceful face behind his veil.
Sun begins to speak, compared to the other people Eyelume has met, he speaks without disgust and acts as if he is on the same level as him."Tell me, child. Do you ever wonder who gave birth to you? Who is your mother?"
Eyelume stayed quiet, he thought this question didn't make sense, white demons don't have mothers, they are just born, summoned by the MOON, nothing more.
Sun chuckles at Eyelume's reaction."Don't look at me like that, child. You do have a mother.
You saw her the very day of your birth as you looked into the beautiful night sky.
The Moon is your mother, and every time you feel lonely you can just look up at the night sky and tell her your problems.
She's a good listener, and she has brought you to this world with all your quirky and joyful ways... Because she loves you.
And you are worthy of love and happiness, everyone is in this world.
Everyone deserves to have the chance to be a good person, don't you think?"Eyelume nods, he understands the meaning of Sun's words and believes him as he is a primordial god after all, it's hard to put in question the words of a god who has existed for so long.
Sun looks around the beautiful garden he and Eyelume are sitting in, he points at a boar standing near them."You know this animal. You've hunted a lot of them during your days in the Frozen hell.
You need to kill them to survive, it doesn't mean you hate these animals, it's the cycle of life.
But if killing them brought you nothing it would mean nothing, right?
That's why I want you to understand a simple concept, child, and I know you can understand it because you are different.
Peace, I'm not asking you to see the world as a perfect place where no one dies, child.
I'm simply asking you to think about peace, how many battles can be ended by simply stopping an adversary instead of killing them? How many fights can be avoided, how many tragedies can be stopped, how much sadness?
Simply by being patient, and kind.
The world doesn't always reward you for being just, and kind.
And you can never be perfect...
But we are born to make progress, to be people, good people.
Everything takes time and effort, and you won't be happy just by being kind.
But it is what one needs to do to make this world, even if slightly, better.
You were born without joy, without people to be kind toward you...
Do you want that to happen to other people, Eyelume?"Eyelume is silent for a moment.
It's complex to understand what Sun is trying to make him understand."Uh... No, I don't, I don't want people to be sad, or dead...
They can't watch the night sky if they are dead."Sun nods calmly and gets up from the bench.
Instinctively, the boar comes toward him.
He places his hand on the boar's head and ruffles his fur."Good, child.
Now, I have only one thing to ask of you.
Please, always keep this smile up, even when the days are dark and the hope is far.
You were born to reach the stars."Eyelume gets a big smile from Sun's words.
He nods a bunch and gets up, his tail is even wagging a little."I promise!"
Eyelume is taken back to his home by Sun, Hope doesn't seem extremely happy about this fact.
For hours, Eyelume tries to explain what Sun told him to Hope, but Hope doesn't listen to him.
Eventually, she's done... She picks up a large Claymore and hits Eyelume with it."Fight back!"
But to her surprise, Eyelume isn't offended by this at all, he runs to grab his big sword and starts to spar with Hope.
Though Hope at first had only seen this child as a pathetic little worm, she can't help but realize how fun it is to spar with him instead of having a cold guardian who simply protects and does nothing else but that.
So for hours, the sounds of blades crashing against one another resonate through their home.
Each time Eyelume falls, Hope strictly shouts at him to stand back up, and Eyelume stands back up and fights.
It starts to become a routine, a habit, everyday Eyelume and Hope would spar.
During her conversations with the other gods, Hope would find herself hoping to be by Eyelume's side to spar.
And every day, even if there was a storm, Eyelume would be there ready to spar.
Life seems perfect...
Days go by, and Hope and Eyelume's relationship gets better...
If only it could've stayed this way, but nothing can stay the same forever.
For reasons unclear, one day in December, everything goes wrong, Sun is found dead, and Despair, the usually quiet and gentlemanly god, starts a war against the gods.
In a hurry, Hope looks for Eyelume and speaks to him. She grabs his hands."Eyelume we don't have time. You have to run away, go far away.
I'll keep Despair at bay.""No, I want to fight with you, I can't leave you alone!"
Eyelume says, disagreeing with Hope's idea.
Hope gives Eyelume a bittersweet smile. She removes her scarf and places it around Eyelume's neck."I'll be fine, go reach the stars for me, little angel."
Using her magic, she teleports Eyelume away, and he finds himself in a place he had never seen before.
Far away from the world tree, full of scrap metal and ruins.
Eyelume was once again, alone.
