Awake, a cold breeze, soft snow, a warm breath, soft light, a beautiful sky.
Millions of stars, mountains, trees, the moon...
A small child born from the MOON like every other white demon, today, lying in the snow naked.
He admires the world, unlike his siblings, he loves the feeling of the world around him.
With a smile on his face, he gets up, he looks at his body, a thick white tail, and two little horns.
He admires the world and starts his travels.
The frozen hell is a harsh place, cold, and hard to survive in. It's the harsh reality of the life of white demons, walking, hunting, eating raw cold meat, fighting, no one is your friend...
But this child is different, he's alone, he was born alone.
Life is hard for him at first, with bruises, cuts, pain, loneliness... But he never backs down, though the world is harsh and awful.
With scrap wood from a dead tree, he makes a blade for himself, big and hard to carry.
However, his travels eventually led him to a place, the Frozen City.
He doesn't know how to speak so communication isn't possible with others, while confused, he's grabbed by an older white demon and forced into a confusing place.
Everyone is older than him and no one is smiling, they look at him with confusion and disgust before letting out sighs and ignoring him.
Some sort of training is started for a few weeks, he is forced to fight other white demons, and if he loses, he doesn't get to eat.
While the child is alone he wonders what this all means, where he is, and why he is, it's all so confusing to him.
He took for granted that the world was a beautiful place, so why do people want to fight each other like that?
He's eventually taken to an Arena, it's gigantic and full of people with halos looking at him and the other white demons.
During his training, he had been taught some words, so as the tall man with an Ofuda covering his face speaks, he understands some of his speech.

"Today is the day of the distribution of white demons to the gods.
Like every thousand years, white demons that have survived will fight to get to the selection duels where each god will be given a set of six demons that will fight in duels until the god chooses their worthy white demons.
May the tournament begin."

The child is still somewhat confused, gods? But he does not have the time to think about that.
The fights begin, though the child is the youngest, he's also the one who has learned the most from his lonely travels, the way he fights might look weird but he knows what he's doing.
He eventually gets into the selection duels and is selected for the selection duels of the Goddess of Hope.
The first few fight goes right, but during the last fight, he struggles. Compared to his adversary, he's full of emotions, his adversary does not care about pain or hope, he only knows to fight, as a white demon should.
But the child is different, he doesn't just fight, he doesn't just kill. He admires, loves, laughs, cries, and feels pain, and exhaustion, he isn't just here to fight he's here to live.
A hit from his adversary's blade throws him to the ground, but he gets up.
Gripping his sword tightly for the first time he understood why he got up the day he was born, to live the life he had been given.
So he keeps on fighting, and the fight takes days, every night, every day, and at every blow, the child gets back up.
Eventually, with tears welling up in his eyes from the pain, he smiles with a big wide smile and speaks.

"Good fight."

He falls to the ground.
After days of long fighting, he falls to the ground.
The Goddess of Hope now has to make her choice, and surprisingly...
She chooses the smiling white demon.
Awakened, the child found himself in a room, in this room there was a bed, warm and gentle, nothing like the cold snow.
He was given clothes, which felt weird to him at first.
In the room, there was a reflective object, a mirror, and for the first time in his life, the child could see his face. He had pale blue eyes, fluffy and messy dark brown hair, strong brows, and sharp shark-like teeth.
He walked around, long corridors, and rooms he had never seen before, and he eventually came outside. What he saw was a vast place with grass and flowers, and he smiled as he loved the view.
He explored the place, trying to see everything new that he could find until he met someone.
Tall, with a serious expression on her face, messy, and long brown hair, red eyes, and wearing a white robe with a red scarf.
She looked badass and cool, but she didn't look full of joy at the sight of the child.

"Stop smiling, you shouldn't smile. You are a white demon, you are meant to fight and protect.
Nothing more than that, you are nothing more than a guardian...
What is your given name?"

The child looked at Hope with confusion and tilted his head to the side.
He answered her with a question of his own.

"What's a given name?"

Hope sighs, wondering why she had to choose someone like him as a guardian.

"You don't have a name?
Fine, I'll give you one, you'll be named..."

Hope was speaking confidently, but she had never given a name to someone. It felt weird for her, as she had no idea what to call the child... She decides to call for the help of an angel.

"Hey ! Lume-"

Her words though are interrupted by the child who speaks up with interest.

"Eyelume ?"

Hope looks down at him, wondering how a being that is already broken by being able to laugh and smile though his race is unable to normally is even able to mistake her words for a name... And Eyelume? Who even calls someone like that?
She decides that this is good enough.

"Yeah, Eyelume, your name is Eyelume.
Now follow me, we have something to do."

Hope starts to walk, and without complaining, Eyelume follows.
