After the week I've had I couldn't wait to get back to my office and spend the weekend alone. Don't get me wrong I love my job as Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts,but sometimes things/people just get on your nerves to much and you just want to hide away. Though my plan of being on my own would have to wait,as I approached my office I could here voices coming from inside. Upon opening the door I come face to face with my close friends and colleagues Severus Snape and Gilderoy Lockhart.
"Can I help you gentlemen?" I asked closing the door behind me
"No you can't help us Y/n" Gilderoy said " As we are the ones who are going to help you"
"Thanks but no thanks" I said making my way over to my desk " I plan to spend the weekend alone "
"On the weekend of your birthday,I think not" Severus said
"Why not?" I asked looking at the potions master
"After the week you have had,it is only right that you spend time with people that actually care about you" Severus said,I looked away from him. I had hopes he hadn't heard.
"So you heard about that then?" I said quietly
"Yes we did hear about that" Gilderoy said,he walked over and stood beside me" It's not very nice when a spoilt litte brat use's such language "
"Gild it's not like you to call a student a brat" I say
"Well that brat in question is Draco Malfoy and has used the same term on one of my beat students,then I shall call him what he is" Gilderoy said
"Well I should have known I would be found out sooner or later,what with Malfoy's dad the way he is" I said
"There is nothing to be ashamed of Y/n" Severus said
"Yes but a muggle-born Slytherin,who's ever heard of such a thing " I said looking at the two men.
"The status of your blood line doesn't determine who you are as a person " Severus said " And then the sorting hat placed you in Slytherin it saw the house traits in you,plus your great grandmother was a Slytherin "
"I just didn't think of it like that" I said
"That's why you have us" Gilderoy said pulling me into a hug
"Thanks Gild " I said" Not joining us Sev?"
"Sharing a hug with that pillock,never" Severus said
"Fine I'll just come to you then" Gilderoy said,let go of me and made his way over to where Severus is stood
"If you try to hug me Lockhart,I will curse you threw the wall" Severus said warningly
"No I was...er...just heading to the door,we should be going if we want to get the Hogsmead on time" Gilderoy said and he left the room. I got up and made to follow after him, before I could leave the room, Severus hugged me
"I can assure you Mr Malfoy will not be getting off easily" Severus said softly
"Thank you Severus"
