Mindy's Point of View
Natigilan ako nang makita kung sino ang tumatawag. Si Charlie. She's a friend who lives in the city. She also knew that I had a thing with Adam.
Madalas niyang nakikita na kasama ko si Adam sa tuwing dumadalaw ito sa bahay-bakasyunan. Ipinasok ko na muna sa sasakyan ang gamit ko bago sinagot ang tawag.
"Charlie," I greeted her. Alam ko na kung bakit ito tumatawag. Magyayaya na naman na uminom sa bar na madalas naming tambayan. "I can't drink tonight, I am driving," I said while starting the car. I put her call on hands-free. "Don't tell me nasa bar ka na naman?" panghuhula ko.
She giggled on the other line. "Syempre! Can't do a day without a drink. But, hey! Guess who's back in town?" excited na tanong nito.

Napakurap ako at saglit na nawala sa konsentrasyon sa pagdadrive. Napamura siya nang muntikan na siyang dumiretso sa pedestrian lane kahit na may tumatawid. Humagalpak ng tawa si Charlie sa kabilang linya nang mahulaan niya na nawala ako sa konsentrasyon. Inutusan niya akong tumabi muna. Itinabi ko rin naman agad ang sasakyan.
"What? Si Adam?" ulit ko. Anong ginagawa ni Adam sa Bicol? Kasama niya kaya ang fiancee niya?
"Yes! And know what? He is all alone! Parang may drama sa buhay," she said mockingly. "And these girls, aba, ang daming mga nagpapansin. O, ano? Hindi ka ba pupunta rito?" she teased.
