CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Fake Wedding Bells

"Have I mentioned how much I hate this whole thing?" Lorelai told Ethan, referring to the horse race.

"Come on, it'll be fine."

"Well, I'll finally get to meet Nyah." Lorelai replied. Ethan's eyes went wide and he started nodding nervously. "Seriously, what's going on?"

"Nothing..." He waved it off as Lorelai walked around.

When Lorelai walked around, she accidentally ran into Nyah, literally, "shit, sorry— oh, Ny—"

"Lorelai Myers..."

"You know me?"

"Of course I know, oh, wait, I guess I can just use your married last name, Lorelai Hunt, it really does have a nice ring to it."

"Hunt?" Lorelai questioned. "Married?"

"Yes. I'm so sorry, by the way. I tried to flirt with Ethan, and he said no to everything because he's married to you. He did look a bit panicked though, like it was a secret."

Lorelai was trying to wrap her head around that whole thing. "Oh, great. Uh, I gotta go to that... Ethan. Ethan, not 'that'. Great meeting you." Lorelai ran to find Ethan.

Once she found him she clenched her jaw. "So you met Nyah."

"We're married?"

"Told you there was a reason for the shared room." Ethan reminded.

"We're not married. What happens if she asks for the legal documents?" Lorelai pressed.

"It'll be fine, besides, Lorelai Kit Hunt sounds pretty nice."

"How did you find out my mi— never mind. Let's just get this over with." Lorelai said.

Ethan had sent the earpiece to Nyah thanks to Billy and now he was talking to Nyah. "You can speak as if I'm right by your side. Mounting enclosure just off the track, 2:00."

Lorelai handed him the binoculars, which he thanked her for and looked for Nyah.

"How's it going? Just like old times? Tell me who you've run into at Ambrose's. We know him. He's over your left shoulder, looking at you right now." Ethan said, prompting Lorelai to look for him while staying there, then she spotted him.

Ethan lowered the binoculars, looking at Lorelai. "You do realise I can't hear anything, right?" She whispered.

Ethan sighed, "bids from possible Chimera buyers."

Lorelai put in the earpiece, it wasn't connected to Nyah's, but the others. She put her 'sunglasses' on. They were technically sunglasses, but they had a built-in binocular system along with cool things to give her an advantage in certain situations.

"Ambrose is meeting some bloke in the bar. Big bloke. Ginger hair. They're into something." Billy informed them.

Lorelai managed to find them with the sunglasses, trying to get a read on who the other guy was with the information centre.
