It's the middle of the night. A time where no human ought to be awake. A time reserved for night owls and nocturnal animals. Not for humans. Definitely no.
Daddy: JOEY it's almost 10 get out of the bed!!! Breakfast is ready!!
Joey: Noooooo too early!! I'll eat breakfast in 3 hours or so...
Daddy enters Joeys room and with a firm grasp slides Joey's blanket off the bed. Joey was clinging on to the blanket so hard he is catapulted right out of bed. Still holding on to the blanket, daddy pulls the duo to the bathroom.
Daddy: You have 5 minutes to get ready for breakfast or I'll come in and rinse you off with cold water!!
Joey knows that it's not an empty threat and grudgingly does his morning routine, then joins daddy in the kitchen for breakfast.
Daddy: Hurry up Joey with your chocolate pancake, we should leave soon!
Leave? What? Why? Home is awesome, Joey thinks.
Joey: What? Why? Home is awesome!
Daddy: I told you, we're going on a trip. You've been inside for far too long. Need to go out and experience nature
Joey: But nature sucks!!!
Daddy: You'll see, it doesn't. Now eat up
Joey chews extra slowly to delay the trip but daddy sees right through it and shoves the entire remaining pancake in his mouth
Daddy: You can chew while packing your backpack!!!
Joey groans. He doesn't like outdoors. Why do they build indoors? So that people don't have to stay outside. And now daddy wants to drag him out.
He packs his laptop, his tablet, his phone, his spare phone, his gaming handheld device. Then some toys. Oh no - almost forgot the chargers! He stuffs the chargers in and now his bag is almost bursting.
Daddy: Did you pack extra shorts and shirts?
Joey inspects his already very heavy backpack. No way he can squeeze more stuff in it.
Joey: I packed all essentials...
Which, in Joey's world, wasn't a lie.
But daddy was too busy to check up on him.
Daddy: Your sleeping bag and extra soft mattress?
Joey tries lifting his backpack and it's already too heavy. But he can't leave his electronics behind. Those are clearly more important than stupid sleeping bags.
Joey carries his stuff to the car and his shoulders already hurt. They start their journey. The longer they drive, the less houses he can see. Eventually all there is are trees. Joey feels lost. He quite likes the city.
After daddy is sure they left all traces of civilization behind, daddy stops the car. Joey's phone starts behaving funny, won't send messages and reels are not refreshing.
Daddy: let's go, Joey!
Joey manages to walk 10 meters then sits down.
Joey: Daddy can you carry me?
Daddy: Don't be silly Joey. Come on now
Joey: But daddy it's too difficult
Daddy is confused.
Daddy: why? A pair of shorts and shirts shouldn't be too heavy?
Joey: ummm....
Daddy: oh, what else did you pack?
