I know I badly messed up the last chapter ( which in turn means the entire story ) but try giving this one a shot :)

And a important disclaimer: Priya is not having any role in the following chapter as I feel this is Ram's battle to fight ( unlike that in the show where he was shown too vulnerable)

-----------------------------------------------------------

The car tire shrieked in the silent parking lot as they entered Kapoor mansion. Ram's guards were up for Priya's safety. "Stay here," he requested.

He had decided to drop Priya at Brinda's house before heading to Kapoor mansion to sort out things once and for all. He was tired of the continuous turmoil for days; now he just wanted to sort out everything, take care of Priya and his child, and peacefully grieve for his deceased sister, who didn't even get a chance to have a proper farewell amidst the hurdles.

"Please, Mr. Kapoor, we talked about it," Priya requested back. She knew things wouldn't go well and therefore didn't want Ram to go alone. Maybe her presence could heat up the matter, but she had to stand by his side no matter what.

Ram sighed, having no energy to fight further. He stepped out of the car, and so did Priya.

As they walked through the corridor, the silence was broken by unclear raised voices and the clash of furniture in the house. Their hearts raced; Ram's hand instinctively went for Priya as his mind prepared for the worst.

As they entered the hallway, the scene of chaos unfurled in front of them. They found Akki and Shubham engaged in a heated argument, their faces red with anger and eyes bloodshot. They were ready to pounce on each other like wild animals once free from the hold of the security guard and Tarun.

The air was thick with tension, and the atmosphere was heavy with grief, consuming them whole as they tried to understand the entire matter.

Their eyes widened as Akshay's voice rang , "Agar tum Shivi ko na bhadkate, to vo mere sath hoti," his finger raised towards Shubham.

"Main sirf apni behen ko tum murderers se protect kar raha tha," Shubham accused back.

"Aise....." he couldn't complete his sentence as Ram intervened.

"Kya ho raha hai idhar?" his loud, firm voice echoed through the hall, leading to a sudden shift in the atmosphere.

"Ram, accha hua tum aa gaye," Nandani immediately came in front, victimizing herself and Shubham. Priya, who was still standing at the doorstep, shocked, remained unnoticed by everyone present.

"Mom, ek second," Ram spoke, showing her his hand while walking closer to Akshay.

"Yahaan kya karne aaye ho, Akshay?" he asked in a slow yet authoritative tone, making Nandani and Shubham smile in victory.

Akshay turned his gaze towards Ram. "Baccha bolte the na aap Shivi ko? Mujhe aakhri baar dekhne bhi nahi diya tha na?" he sneered. "To uske murderer ko phir kyun uske paas jaane diya?" he questioned angrily, but the rage in his eyes turned moist as he remembered Shivi's pyre.

"Kya bakwas kar rahe ho?" his fist clenched.

"Proof hai mere paas aapke bhai Shubham..." he couldn't complete his sentence as Nandani intervened.

"Oh, shut up! Bahot ho gaya tumhara. Ram, khade kya ho? Call the police!" she stepped forward with determination and rage.

"Dikhao proof," Ram challenged, unbothered by Nandani's words, making the mother-son duo exchange a worried glance.

"Ram, kiski baat sun rahe ho? Bhool gaye iski behen..." she spoke, reaching closer, with crocodile tears in her eyes.

"Main baat kar raha hu na," he spoke in finality, taking hold of Shivi's phone, which Akshay passed to him, but before he could see...
