ITS BEEN YEARS AFTER you accidentally murdered your parents. You were thrown into an adoption center, where it was even worse than your old home. Your mother looked like a saint compared to these women who took care of each child here.
Once you were old enough, you scurried out of that place to join whatever you could. You jumped from place to place, scamming people, mostly old men, manipulating them, and even threatening them.
In the end, you had enough money to be on your own for a while, and for the time being, you just studied.
One late night, you strolled outside on the sidewalk, a hoodie on and your hands buried inside the pockets. You passed by some store that had televisions on display, and some news going on.
You slowed down when your eyes caught sight of some buff man, the same one you had seen when you were younger. You stared with an owlish expression, blinking slowly as the man laughed while talking to the news reporter.
Behind them, a large fire was being put down, and in the background, people were crying while thanking him profusely. The camera turned to point at them, some going as low to their knees, and others just bowing.
