Walking into the familial room of Princess Rhaenyra's quarters, Daenys saw her younger brothers and Ser Harwin Strong patiently in front of the egg incubating pot. They were eagerly waiting for Daenys, for all three to see the special egg that was chosen for their newest brother.
"Good morrow sweet brothers. Good morrow Ser Harwin." Daenys said, taking off her riding gloves. Ser Harwin smiled at the princess and nodded at her gently.
"Good morrow sister. May we see the egg?" Luke said, impatiently.
Daenys chuckled at her brother, grabbing the thick cloth and placing it on top of the pot's lid. Carefully she opened the heavy lid, smoke pouring at the exposure of fresh air.
"Ah, this looks like the perfect egg." the girl said, inspecting the dark green egg.
"I let Luke choose it." Jace said, proudly.
"Thank you Jace." Luke smiled at his older brother.
"Well done, both of you." Daenys smiled at the young boys, gently caressing their heads. All three children turned when they heard the chambers' doors open, the sound of a babe gently fussing following in. Daenys quickly covered the pot and saw her mother come in with her father gently trailing behind.
"Mother! We chose an egg for the baby!" Luke said enthusiastically.
"I let the boys choose." Daemys said, walking to her father to see her new brother. Rhaenyra smiled at her children, sitting down on the couch.
"Not everyday an egg leaves the dragonpit, Princess. I thought it was best I escort the lads." Ser Harwin said, walking behind the boys.
"Laenor and I thank you, Commander." Rhaenyra muttered, sitting more comfortably.
"Might I?" Ser Harwin asked. Rhaenyra nodded, "Ser Harwin wishes to be introduced to Joffrey."
Laenor nodded and handed the sleeping babe to Ser Harwin who rocked him gently. Daenys smiled at the sight of her family, gathering her brothers towards the door. "Come, back to the dragonpit we must go. Before the keepers send a search party for us." Daenys said.
"But I want to hold the baby!" Luke pouted. Daenys grabbed ahold of her younger brother's hand, "Later, now come." she said, pulling both boys out of the room.

The cool, dark structure of the dragonpit felt like comfort to Daenys. Spending most times in there visiting her dragon, Daenys was used to the darkness of the pit. Jace and Luke, standing patiently next to their sister on the right side, opposite to Aegon and Aemond, waited for Vermax to appear with the dragon keepers.
Daenys stared at her feet, waiting for Vermax to appear, when low growls brought her attention back. Vermax, the olive green dragon that bonded with her brother Jacaerys, came in growling for food.
"Call Vermax to heel, Prince Jacaerys." one of the dragon keepers said.
"Vermax!" Jace said. The dragon was reluctant, hearing the screeches of the sheep that was brought in.
"You must hold mastery of your dragon, my young Prince. As Princess Daenys did with Merrax and Prince Aegon with Sunfyre." The dragonkeeper said.
Jace nodded and took a breath, "Vermax!" He yelled. Vermax turned to Jace and screeched. "Can I say it?" Jace asked giddily, almost jumping up and down.
The dragonkeeper nodded, slightly stepping away from Vermax. Jace stepped closer, looking back at everyone before looking at his sister who smiled and nodded. "Dracarys Vermax!" Jace yelled. The dragon obeyed, letting dragonfire rain on the sheep, burning it down before the dragon ravished the carcass.
