The next day at school, Mei noticed a tense atmosphere among her friends. Xiao Feng was acting strangely, avoiding eye contact and seeming distracted. Mei's instincts told her something was wrong.

During lunch, she pulled Feng aside and confronted him. "What's going on, Feng? You've been acting weird lately."

Feng hesitated, looking conflicted. Finally, he sighed and said, "I need to tell you something. I've been working with The Null."

Mei's heart sank. "What? Why?"

"They blackmailed me," Feng admitted, his voice filled with regret. "They threatened my family. I didn't know what to do. But I can't keep lying to you. I want to make things right."

Mei felt a mix of anger and sadness. She knew Feng had made a mistake, but she also knew he was genuinely remorseful. "Why didn't you tell us sooner? We could have helped you."

Feng looked down, ashamed. "I thought I could handle it on my own. I didn't want to put you all at risk."

Mei took a deep breath. "We're a team, Feng. We face these challenges together. We'll figure this out."
