Karina's pov

It was Minjeong's birthday tomorrow, and I wanted to make it extra special for her. I had been planning the surprise for weeks, gathering all her favorite things and arranging a perfect evening to celebrate. The only hitch in my plan was that I had auditions for the school play tomorrow, which meant I would have to carry out the surprise tonight. The pressure was on, but I was determined to make it work.

I spent the entire day juggling between schoolwork and the final touches for Minjeong's surprise. I made sure to keep everything under wraps, not wanting to spoil the surprise by giving anything away too early. I carefully packed her gifts, making sure each one was wrapped just right. I had chosen a mix of things I knew she loved: a beautifully illustrated journal for her thoughts, a delicate necklace that would complement her style, and a selection of her favorite snacks. Each gift was a token of my affection and appreciation for her.

After school, I hurried home to prepare. I decorated the living room with fairy lights, balloons, and a banner that read "Happy Birthday, Minjeong!" I arranged a small table with a homemade cake, complete with her favorite frosting and decorations. The aroma of vanilla and chocolate filled the air, adding to the festive atmosphere.

As the evening approached, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. I wanted everything to be perfect for Minjeong. I checked the time, knowing she would be arriving soon. I had asked her to come over for a "study session," using it as a cover for the real plan.

When Minjeong knocked on the door, my heart skipped a beat. I opened it with a broad smile, trying to keep my excitement in check. "Hey, Minjeong! Come on in," I said, stepping aside to let her in.

She walked in, looking slightly puzzled. "Wow, it smells amazing in here! What have you been up to?"

I tried to act casual. "Oh, just baking a little. Thought we could have some snacks while we study."

We settled down at the table, and I watched as Minjeong's eyes widened in surprise when she saw the decorations and the cake. "Jimin, what's all this?"

I couldn't contain my grin any longer. "Happy early birthday, Minjeong! I have auditions tomorrow, so I wanted to celebrate with you tonight."

Her face lit up with joy, and she threw her arms around me. "Thank you so much, Jimin! This is amazing!"

We spent the evening celebrating together. We laughed, talked, and enjoyed the cake I had made. Minjeong opened her presents, and seeing her happiness made all the effort worthwhile. The journal, the necklace, and the snacks – each gift brought a smile to her face.

After a while, we settled on the couch, wrapped in a cozy blanket. The fairy lights cast a warm glow around us, creating an intimate and magical atmosphere. "You really went all out, Jimin," Minjeong said softly, resting her head on my shoulder.

"You deserve it!" I replied, kissing the top of her head. "I wanted to make your birthday special, even if we had to celebrate a bit early."

She looked up at me with gratitude in her eyes. "This is the best birthday surprise ever. Thank you for making it so special."

We stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each other's company. The stress of the day melted away, replaced by a sense of contentment and love. I knew that no matter what happened at the auditions tomorrow, I had already created a perfect memory with Minjeong.

As the night drew to a close, I walked Minjeong to the door. "Good luck with your auditions tomorrow, Jimin. I know you'll do great."

"Thanks, Minjeong. And happy birthday again. I'm so glad we could celebrate together."

She kissed me softly. "Me too. I'll see you tomorrow."

As she walked away, I felt a warmth in my heart. The surprise had been a success, and Minjeong was happy. I couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate her special day. With a smile on my face, I closed the door, already looking forward to the next time we could make more beautiful memories together.

But.. that wasn't the only gift i was planning for.
