"why is this like literally gang wars?" mak commented before shoving a fist full of popcorn in her mouth.

izzy sighed, looking away from the 'cobra kai' episode playing on the living room tv, "you're so right, like i love this show but was it ever that serious?"

"because why are we throwing people through windows and leaving people paralyzed?" lindsey piped in, reaching over to take some of mak's popcorn, "the way miguel forgave robby for literally paralyzing him."

"miguel's needs to hire his standards for real," jaden said from her spot on the floor. the group of girls giggled slightly, turning their attention back to the show.

the moments of silence between the group of girls were stolen, moments of peace rare in their chaotic group. sure, they loved the guys and times with the whole group together were some of their favorites but sometimes you just need your girls. sometimes you just need to get all of the girls together and rot on the couch watching shitty teen shows, and considering the uncertainty of a next summer, izzy was really learning to appreciate these moments.

"can i speak?" gian asked rhetorically, sitting up in the recliner.

everyone turned to look at her, "no," mak answered sarcastically.

"so, now that you've all gotten with your guys, what's the plan?" gian questioned, ignoring mak's quip.

the room got quiet, the noise from the show being drowned out, "what do you mean?" izzy asked.

"well there's only a week left of summer and we're all across the country so is everyone just breaking up or are you all delusional enough to think you can do long distance?" gian asked bluntly.

"jamie and i are both going to florida tech so that's not really an issue for us," lindsey answered, "if there even is an us."

"there's definitely an us for you and jameson be so fucking for real," jaden leaned against the bottom of the couch, taking a second to think, "and i'm only like a 40 minute drive from calum so" she smiled smugly.

mak rolled her eyes, "i'm going to ucla so not an issue for chris and i either."

izzy took deep breath, "damn, yall really thought this out," she chuckled awkwardly.

"while i am very happy that you and matt made up," lindsey started, "if you let a man ruin your big new york model dream, i might kill you myself."

"considering im about to sign a six month contract, not likely," izzy smiled softly.

"you and matt will work it out, you always do," mak assured, tapping izzy's shoulder in reassurance.

gian gasped suddenly, "oh shit everyone's fighting again," everyone's attention turned back to the show they forgot was on.

"gang wars," mak repeated her joke under her breath, earning her a few chuckles as everyone went back to the show. the episodes went by, the guys slowly piling into the house, calum and jameson coming back from work and the triplets coming over once they heard everyone was over at the parker's.

the familiar chaos and chorus of voices filled the once peaceful house. izzy watched everyone interact, feeling a strange nostalgia for something that wasn't even over yet. she looked around at everyone as jameson ruffled lindsey's hair before placing an affectionate kiss on the top of her head, then immediately turning around and continuing his bickering with calum. calum immediately halting their dumb fight to toss jaden the capri sun she asked for. chris ignoring everyone and just taking a seat next to mak, so enamored in just a simple conversation about mak's day. nick taking a seat on the arm rest of gian's recliner, the two complaining about how everyone didn't have to rub it in their faces that they were single.
