"Marley!" Annie grins, standing in the hall when I open the door to their house and walk in.

I smile at the little girl as she opens her arms for a hug. I comply, kneeling down and embracing her.

"Marley, we're gonna have fun!" She squeals.

Megan walks over then, gently pulling the girl away from me. "That's not what you were saying ten minutes ago."

I tilt my head in a bit of question and Megan scoffs.

"She was all upset about Billy and Ma leaving."

"She's a little drama queen." Alla says as she walks through the hall to the kitchen, shooting me a quick smile.

"No, I'm not!" Annie frowns, stomping after her big sister as she keeps arguing her case.

I let out a breath of a laugh, knees clicking as I stand up after squatting for a while.

Charlotte walks down the stairs with Trixie, a glass of wine in her hand. "Oh, Marley! Come here."

She says and grabs my wrist, pulling me into the living room with her as she sits on the couch.  She offers me her glass and I shake my head.

"Come on!"

Alla suddenly walks through with snacks. "Don't pressure her."

Billy would say the exact same thing.

"I'm not! I'm just-"

"Tipsy?" I ask with an amused smirk to which she scoffs.

"Don't start."

I shake my head, still finding it funny, and look at the food Alla brought in, my mind suddenly switching its thought process as the other three come in.

"Have you guys eaten properly? I can make you dinner-"

I'm cut off by two voices, Alla and Annie.

"Oh, honey don't worry about that."

"Mac 'n Cheese!"

Megan hands her phone to Annie, distracting her with a game or something. "No, Annie. Marley isn't making us dinner."

"I really don't mind. I'm kind of hungry anyway, so-"

"We can order in!" Trixie speaks up, the 13 year old practically beaming.

"Ma left us like ten bucks, Trix."

That's when I realised you really can't get one sentence out in a house with five sisters unless you'd had years of practice growing up with it.

"I can pay-"

"No!" The three oldest all look at me as they object. Char speaks next. "No, you're not paying, Marley. Thank you, though."

Annie nods as she wanders over to me, Megan's phone clearly not doing its job of distracting her.

"Yeah, Billy said we don't let you do anything to help us out."
