Story 2: first date

Buck POV

It has been six months since Tommy and I broke up, I finally feel like I'm ready to open myself back up. Unlike Buck 1.0 and 2.0 I am actually taking care of myself.

Eddie and me are going out to dinner at a restaurant called Bells Diner, it's fairly new and neither of us have ate there before. It's 4:30 and Eddie said he was going to pick me up at 5. There was a knock at my door at 4:55, I am a little nervous, i don't know why. I go to answer the door expecting to see Eddie but instead i see Tommy. My heart sank and i could feel the anger in me building.
"You look nice." He says
"What are you doing here?" I ask him
"I came to talk to you since you wont answer any of my texts or calls." He says, he just walks right into my apartment like he still stays here everyday. "Come in i guess" i mumble
"That's because i blocked you. Now can you please leave? I have a date." I tell him sounding very annoyed
"A date? With who?" Tommy asks
"With me." Eddie says walking through the opened door.
Tommy and Eddie stare at each other then Tommy looks at me but Eddie doesn't take his deep stare off of Tommy, I can tell Eddie wants to punch him in his face right now.
"I see." Is all Tommy says as he leaves the unwelcoming apartment he invited himself into.

Eddie POV

I shut the door and grip onto the door handle, i wanted to punch Tommy right across the jaw for showing up to Bucks apartment so unannounced. I turn around and see Buck leaning against the counter on his hands looking down at the ground. The shirt he is wearing really defines his biceps.
"You okay Buck?" I ask him, i place my hand on his lower back trying to get a glimpse of his face to see if he's crying.
"Yeah." Is all he says. When he stands up straight he wasn't crying but i could see all the same hurt in his eyes like the same day i came to his apartment six months ago.
"We can order in Buck if you don't want to go out anymore. I will understand." I tell him
"No Eddie, I still want to go out to dinner with you. I mean look at you all dressed up." Buck says he looks me up and down sending chills down my body.
"Ok then, let's go then." I open the door for him following him out.

Buck POV

When we arrive at the restaurant we were sat at booth near the windows, we sat across from one another. The waitress took our drink order and we ordered an appetizer. Eddie looks so good, his biceps are bulging in his shirt sleeves I'm surprised that there's not a rip. He looks really good in the color burgundy. His brown hair looks so soft and silky. The waitress brought our drinks and the appetizer then we placed our main order.

After we ate dinner we made our way back to Eddies truck, i go to open the door to get in my Eddies hand slides on top of mine. Eddie POV

I would take Buck right here in the back of truck if we wasn't in such a public area. It's dark outside and there's not really anyone out here so no one sees me having Buck pinned against the side of my truck. Buck POV

Buck fell asleep in my arms, i didn't mind it though he could stay there forever and everything would be just fine. He's safe here there's nothing in this world I wouldn't do for him.

The next morning when i woke up i felt next to for Buck but the bed was empty. I smelled bacon, i got up and put on some sweatpants and s t-shirt and walked towards the smell. When i entered the kitchen i saw Buck, Chris, and Carla sitting at the table eating breakfast.
"Dad! Buck is here." Chris exclaims all excited
"He is bud! Did you have fun last night?" I ask him , i look at Carla and she already has that expression on her face.
"Yeah! We went to the movies then i got this new video game!" Chris tells me all about his night with Carla while i make my plate.

When we finished breakfast Chris and Buck went to his room to set up his video game while me and Carla cleaned up the kitchen.
"So you and Buckley?" Carla asks
"You knew?" I ask
"The trail of clothes kind of gave it away. I had to tell Chris dad forgot to use his laundry basket." Carla says, she raises her eyebrows and i know what she's thinking.
"I'm going to tell him." I tell her
"I know. But when?" She asks
"Soon." I say
"Is this serious? With Buck? Because it can't just be a fling that boy loves Buck." Carla says
"I know. I love him too." I say, i have always loved Buck, as a friend, but romantically i do.
"Oh you do? How long has that been going on?" She asks me
"I have always loved Buck as a friend you know that. But now, now is different. It was our first date, you don't say that on the first date." I say as I finish the dishes.

Buck POV

I finished helping Chris set up his video game and go to help in the kitchen but i stop right outside the door when i hear Eddie and Carla talking.
"Do you love him?" She asks
"As a friend." He says. Everything after that is toned out, i went to leave without saying bye but Eddie walks out of the kitchen. His face looked shocked to see me standing there.
"Hey Buck." He says
"Hey." I say, i hope my facial expression isn't showing what i am feeling right now.
"What's wrong Buck?" Eddie asks he goes to grab my hand but i pull it away. I can tell that shocked him.
"Buck." Eddie says "it's not what you think."
"Just as a friend?" I ask
"No that's not what I meant. You only heard the last bit of the conversation Buck." Eddie says. I look at him in the eyes they looking pleading and scared.

I take a seat on the couch and Eddie sits right next to me.
"Evan you know i have always loved you as a friend because before this we were best friends, hell i still do. This was our first actual date as more than friends and i didn't want to over step in anyway." Eddie explains.
"But you love me now more than just friends?"
"Yes." He says "but it was our first date. I know there's some rule where you don't say that on a first date."
"Well you are dating someone who isn't really good at following the rules, remember?" I tell him. He smiles at that.
"I love you, Evan." He says
"I love you too Eddie." I can see in his eyes he's not freaking out anymore afraid that he hurt me.

We decided to tell Chris about us and Chris was confused at first but then he accepted the fact that his dad was happy now and that i was going to be his dad now too, not legally of course. Well not yet anyways.
