The Twin Alpha's Mate

Chapter 14

~Benjamin's POV~

I hear Dan mind linking for help.

I look at my passed out mate and consider my next move. Though, there's nothing to consider, my brother needs help defending himself and the pack. But... my mate needs me too.

Dad, just in time, runs in with others, "Ben, go."

"But dad, she's unconscious. What if something...", he cuts me off, "we're all here Ben. She's fine. She's just lost a lot of energy. She's fine, we're fine, we'll protect each other if need be. Go protect the pack. You're the Alpha, the pack needs you"

I nod.

As much as I hate to leave her, I need to perform my duties. I give my angel a kiss on the forehead and begin walking towards the exit.

"I'm coming with you" says Betty, ready to change into her wolf form.
"No, it's too risky. Stay here", I stop her.
"With all due respect, alpha, I'm going, and you can't stop me. This is my best friend's pack, and I will do anything to save her and the pack" she says and turns. Her wolf is also petite, like Angel's. Though, she has a mix of brown and black fur.

I, too, change and we both run back to the pack house while fighting a few rogues here and there.

For a wolf this petite, Betty is actually a very good fighter. One of the best female fighters I've seen in a long time. When things get better, I'm gonna ask her to join us and help protect the pack. Young girls might get inspired... added bonus.

Pushing these thoughts aside I enter the pack house only to see Dan and our Beta fighting off an army of rogues, standing back to back to protect each other.

As soon as Betty enters, Nathan, our Beta stops and looks around, trying to find something... or someone?

Pushing these thoughts aside I pounce on the nearest rogue. I fight a few off, biting, clawing, smacking them left and right until I see the 'Main man'.
Without a warning I lunge on Lucas' back and bite a huge chunk of his flesh, he howls, loud enough for all wolves to stop and look at us.

I get distracted looking at the wolves looking at us. Using this as an entry, Lucas pounces one me. I fall on my back, with him on top of me, and try to gain the dominance. I protect myself from his bites. His face inches forward with each bite. For someone who's as injured as he is, he's quite strong.
Regaining my strength and concentration, I push his body off of me with my hind legs, strong enough to hit the wall and fall to the ground.

He lays there, unconscious.

Without paying any more attention, I fight the other rogues as they come.

~Daniel's POV~

I see Ben struggling to get Lucas off of him. I finish a rogue and run to help him when I'm suddenly tackled by a female wolf.
I skid on the floor and gain my balance again, and snarl at her. She shudders, slightly.
Don't worry girl, I noticed. You can try to hide it as much as you want but I know you shuddered. I think to myself.

I look toward Ben, realising he's gained his strength and can handle his situation... looks like now I can focus on mine.
But before I could, I saw the wolf who attacked me running... hah, scaredy cat.

I saw her run towards Lucas and nudge him, trying to wake him up.

Is she her mate? Bad choice.
Yeah yeah it's not her choice whatever stfu

I run towards her, ready to pounce. As soon as she notices me she moves to the side and I fall on Lucas' body, biting into his back bone.
Lucas suddenly gains consciousness because of the sudden jolt of pain and howls loudly. I've never seen any wolf howl so loud in pain.

Sensing her mistake and her mates pain, the female wolf tackles me to the ground. As soon as I hit the ground, she runs off of me and mindlinks a few of their pack's wolves to surround her and Lucas.

"Should we attack?" Ben asks through mind link

Before I could answer, the entire pack, as if planned, make a formation to protect their Alpha and Alina, and run. They run with all their leftover energy and don't look back.

What a bunch of pussies.
I sigh.

"I don't think we should go after them, our pack has suffered a lot. We can figure out the next steps later" Ben says

I agree.

I'm so sorry my readers. I was astray for a long time. But I'm back now, hopefully for the better.
