Fake boyfriend before it becomes real - Daniel & Paul

Paul:
Daniel and I have agreed to go to the Rovers today. It's my first time going since the rumour of our relationship started. It's also the first time since that creepy bloke perved on me. It doesn't affect me as much anymore but the thought still gives me the chills and leaves an uncomfortable feeling in my chest.

"You ready to leave?" Daniel asks appearing next to me. I jump slightly.

"What? Oh yeah. Yeah I'm ready to go. C'mon then."

I can tell Daniel is concerned because of my rushed words but I ignore him and walk out of the flat door.

We enter the pub holding hands. We notice David and Shona sat in one of the booths and walk over.

"Alright lad, Shona." I say nodding to the two.

"Hiya Paul, Daniel. Come sit with us." David responds for the two.

"Okay ill go and get the drinks. David, Shona what would you like?" Daniel says letting go of my hand causing me to face him.

"I'll just have a pint." David says nodding his head in thanks.

"Just an orange juice for me please Daniel." Shona says smiling.

"Okay. What about you babe?" Daniel says turning to me. My mind goes blank for a second before I respond.

"Uh just a pint for me as well please." I say before sitting next to David.

"Okay so three pints and an orange juice. Got it." He says before turning to walk towards the bar.

"So. How'd this happen then?" David says smirking.

"Yeah. Tell us everything!" Shona adds on clearly excited.

"Well we live together don't we. We got closer over the months and then Daniel came out to me. I realised I liked him and he felt the same so we decided to give it a shot." I say actually smiling at my own words.

"Awh that is so cute!" Shona almost squeals.

"Yeah happy for you mate." David responds.

Daniel returns and sits down across from me. He places everyone's drinks down on the table before passing mine to me.

"There you go babe. You okay you seem a little on edge." Daniel sounds genuinely concerned. How did he know?

"It's just my first time being in here since the thing with the guy happened. What if he comes back and does something again?" My anxiety is sky rocketing.

Daniel grabs my hand and rubs it slightly.

"He won't. Even if he does I won't let anything happen."

"Yeah none of us will Paul." David says patting me on the back.

"Thanks. Both of you. " I nod my head at them. I also reciprocate Shona's smile.

I'm thankful to say that today was another successful day out. I may have had a little blip with my anxiety but Daniel quickly helped me.
