A/N: Pochi pic above.

Y/n followed Megamo silently down the corridor toward the council office, her mind racing to keep pace with her feet. In her view, Megamo Saikou was almost an untouchable figure. He was more than just the student council president and heir to the massive Saikou Corporation—he was brilliant, powerful, effortlessly influential, and to top it all off, rumored to be the most attractive student at Akademi. Despite his omnipresence in rumors and admiration, Y/n had barely seen him since the start of the year. So to be called here, alone, felt both unsettling and oddly intriguing.

When they reached the council office, Megamo opened the door, gesturing for Y/n to enter first. She stepped in, taking in the immaculate room with its sleek furniture and walls lined with books and documents that were as perfectly arranged as she'd imagined his mind to be. Megamo entered after her, closing the door softly before taking his place in the large leather office chair across from her. He seemed more relaxed than he had on the rooftop, his earlier commanding presence softened.

"Y/n," he began, his voice uncharacteristically gentle. "I apologize for interrupting your lunch. I know your time is valuable."

She was caught off-guard by the change in his tone and how his blue eyes seemed softer now, almost empathetic.

She met his gaze and replied, "It's no big deal. Why did you want to speak with me?"

Megamo sighed, clasping his hands together as he leaned forward, his expression sharpening with purpose.

"There's no easy way to say this, so I'll be blunt. I value transparency and punctuality above all else. I've been absent from school over the past few weeks, as you might've noticed."

Y/n nodded, waiting patiently, sensing that whatever he was about to tell her was serious. He continued, his tone calm but deliberate.

"I didn't share the reason for my absence with anyone—not my friends, not even my right-hand man. The truth is, I've been investigating a murder case that Akademi was indirectly tied to several years ago."

A chill settled over the room, and Y/n held her breath, listening intently as his words filled the silence. Megamo's gaze grew distant, as if he were reliving a moment both haunting and painful.

"I have reason to believe," he said slowly, "that something similar may happen again if we don't take precautions."

Y/n's brows furrowed, the vague foreboding in his words pulling her deeper into confusion. "I... don't understand," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "What does this have to do with me?"

Megamo hesitated, his fingers curling tighter together. "I suspect that Ayato Aishi is a dangerous person," he said, enunciating each word as if weighing their impact.

Y/n's blood ran cold.

She fought to keep her face impassive, not daring to betray a hint of the shock or turmoil swirling within her.

She was scared if Megamo knew.

'Fuck. Fuck. Shit.' she cursed in her mind.

This was it. The loose-end.

Ayato's loose-end but she was also involved in this whole thing.

She knew it was too good to be true to have the whole murder thing to be brushed off easily.

Y/n blinked and quickly looked at Megamo to give her more context of what he said.

Megamo studied her reaction before pressing on, his tone sober and steady.
