DAMIANS POV:

My mind has been going crazy the past two days. I keep remembering that girl..something about her not letting me forget her. Was it that blue dress? Her hair? Her eyes?

I couldn't figure it out, but I was trying to shut it down. I didn't even know who she was, not even her name. The only thing that I knew was that she was human—a species I only saw as prey.

She had to be some type of royalty though to be wearing something like that, considering I didn't see any of the other females wearing dresses as nice as hers. I really did need to forget about the girl; she was just food like every other human around.

I walked over to my mirror, looking at the scratch marks on my arms from last, a slight chuckle leaving my lips. Sometimes I wasn't even hungry for blood; I honestly just liked the adrenaline rush I got from the kill. Being a vampire wasn't all that bad in reality, especially if you were one who had a ring that allowed you to walk in the sun and play it off like you were human. Not many vampires had that, which sucked for them because it was easier to get a bite whenever you wanted when you could walk in the sun. But of course there were vampires who just drunk out blood bags from the hospital, too remorseful to kill, and that's something I could never go by.

I walked away from the mirror, grabbing a simple black shirt and putting it on—not really caring to fix my messy hair as I walked out of my room. My house was filled with silence considering the fact I lived alone. It hasn't always been that way, though.

I used to live with my younger brother, in the kingdom in fact, but once someone found out our secret of who we're really are, they told the king and queen. That night I remembered clearly, but I really did wish it was blurry. But to sum it up, only one of us made it out that night alive. It's not a topic I like to think a lot about, but my mind often doesn't give me a choice.

I looked outside my window, darkness and trees filling up my vision other than the tiny bit of light from the castle. I grabbed my jacket and put it on, deciding to go take a walk near it. Maybe see if I could find someone and have a little fun and a meal at the same time.

I could hear the animals and insects making noises as I walked through the dark woods; they never bothered me though. It only took me a few minutes to get out of the woods and into the garden of the castle. It was a bit surprising to see how they didn't find me yet because I wasn't far, but I'm sure if they did, they'd try to do the same thing they did to my brother to me.

I looked around, a soft hum leaving me not seeing much of anyone outside, until I finally looked up. My eyes landing on the same girl from last night on the balcony once again. I saw that she had a book in her hand..finding out one thing about her at least.

I focused on her, completely forgetting about hunting, as my eyes took in every facial feature of hers that I could make out from this distance—the way her eyes shined perfectly in the light of the moon. I was debating on talking to her or not, but before I could make my decision our eyes locked together..her blue ones being the ones to look away from my gaze this time as I watched her quickly go back inside..not having a chance to say anything to her, but I wasn't even sure if I should.

Was she scared of me?
