Yuji sat in one of the many common spaces in his dorm hall across from a redheaded woman with a fierce look in her amber eyes. She chewed her lip, something she had done a lot since they sat down at the table. Yuji rested his head lazily atop his knuckles, staring at the textbook in front of him.
"Where's this super smart friend of yours?" she spat the question at him.
Her voice echoed in the empty space around them. The pink-haired man imagined that there would be more students around the common areas. However, he was proven wrong time after time when he walked by the large empty rooms.
"He should be here soon. He texted me a bit ago that he was on his way," Yuji said.
The redhead shoved her face into the binding of her textbook, "I don't get any of this! Why do we need to know microbiology ever! If it's smaller than me it doesn't matter."
"How embarrassing. Someone doesn't understand the importance of the mitochondria," Yuji said.
"Shut up, Itadori, that's not even part of this quiz," the redhead said.
"What, it's not!? Kugisaki, how could you not have told me this!" Yuji slammed his palms to the table.
"It's not my fault that you don't pay attention," Kugisaki said.
Yuji sniffed the air, immediately lifting his mood. The herbal scent of Fushiguro was approaching at a casual pace. His scent was always stronger when they were with someone else. It was like Fushiguro was trying to claim Yuji.
"The cavalry has arrived," Fushiguro's blasé voice called from the hallway adjoining the common space.
Kugisaki's head rose, her face scrunched, "So that's what I've been smelling."
"Yeah, he's a bit of a drama queen," Yuji smiled.
Fushiguro's hand struck Yuji in the back of the head before his body perched next to Yuji. The smack stung, but it was the first time in two weeks Fushiguro had as much as touched Yuji. Maybe their time groping each other was just hormonal. The pink-haired man shook the thought from his head.
"So, you're getting ready for a quiz? I had a different professor, but I can help point you in the right direction," Fushiguro said.
Kugisaki's eyes narrowed on the black-haired man, "Didn't take you to be friends based on the first time we met."
Fushiguro didn't answer. Instead, he batted his eyes with dismissal. Yuji still found it difficult to wrap his head around what their relationship was. He was the one to recommend not labeling it, but that made the boundaries so much blurrier.
"Well, anyway. You know what they say about two alphas that hang out too much. Their scents get mixed," Kugisaki said.
"Good thing that won't be a problem then," Fushiguro said plainly.
Kugisaki and Yuji had the same reaction. Their eyes went wide as they watched Fushiguro thumb through Yuji's notes. The spiky-haired man was so difficult to read that it was a bit annoying at times.
Yuji came in with a brief explanation, "Because I'm trans-omega."
Kugisaki's expression shifted to one that was indiscernible. She chewed her lip, then shrugged. Finally, her face landed on epiphany.
"Oh, that makes so much more sense. I was wondering why your pheromones were so weak," Kugisaki nodded, confirming her own point.
Yuji lifted an arm and smelled his armpit. Fushiguro shot him a confused look. Was that a dumb reaction? Yuji wasn't keen on understanding what Fushiguro was trying to say with his eyes.
