"Were you at Starlight again?" Veronica asks me as she enters the living room where all the window shades are down. Starlight was the name of the biggest club in this city. Also the club I'm at almost every night.

Veronica, such a sweet soul. She shouldn't be here but in reality it's just us three plus workers we don't get close too. She's three years younger than me but definitely the smartest here. She's our mafia doctor. Ever since she was young she had taken a liking to helping people. It was great for us since we now didn't have to worry about going to an actual hospital since she was trained by a real professional.

"Yes, was I too loud coming in?" I asked.

"No, I just assumed since your wearing sunglasses and were indoors,"

I laughed.

"You should come with me, you have a fake ID, and we can have fun"

"No thanks, drinking isn't my thing and I can get laid with James." She joked. James and Veronica have been together since they were in highschool. Thankfully, James is a part of an alliance mafia so of course, I approve of their relationship.

I laughed along with her and changed the channel on the tv to a show we started a couple days ago.

"Was he any good?" She asked. It wasn't abnormal for us to talk about our sex lives. We were really close. After our parents died, I practically became a parent but the three of us stayed close.

"You actually wouldn't believe it. He's new in town, but he was great. It was so different from the past few. He knew what to do. Too bad I won't be seeing him again," I said while laughing.

She laughed along with me until she got a little quiet. I already knew what she was going to say next.

"Why don't you try actually getting to know someone? Maybe with time and everything you can tell them and you can be-"

"It's a lot of work to be in a relationship with someone outside of work. I don't have time for that. My work comes first and you know that" I said, cutting her off. She didn't respond, just gave me a quiet nod.

It's been years of her trying to set me up with people. I just can't have that emotional connection with someone right now. I don't have time to worry about someone finding out about my job or anything.

"Where's Antonio?" I asked, breaking the silence.

Antonio, our little brother. He's five years younger than me and is still in training. Although he's a great fighter, I don't want to put his life at risk. He just graduated from high school. I'm trying to get him to go to college but he wants to be in the business. He's definitely the one that resembles our mother the most. God was good to not have any of us resemble our father.

"He went out for training, I think he'll be back later" She says.

"Okay" I said as we continued watching our show.

My phone ringing cuts our silence. Veronica pauses the tv and looks over at me.

"Hello?"

"Hi Boss, the Perez Mafia is ready to meet tonight at 7pm and are asking if we are able to do that time?" Rob, my planner said. I look over to the clock, it's 4pm. How long have I been rotting on this couch?

"Yes, that's fine. Send them the address and have the food ready for the front house."

The front house was a house in front of the main house which is where we sleep. This is where we invite other mafias for if things go south. They don't know that there is really a bigger house behind this house. The front house has three rooms. A giant dinner room, living room, and guest room.
