The refreshing winter breeze did not comfort the sickening feeling that Julia felt as she commuted to school the next morning. Her stomach twisted everytime she started thinking about Sunghoon moving. As well as praying that she would do well on her finals, as she did not get much sleep the night before, her phone began to ring.
She rummaged through her pocket looking for her phone to see that the caller ID said "Jungwonnie".
"Hello? It's already 7:50 Juls, our first final starts in 10 minutes where are you?" Jungwon urged.
Julia groaned after hearing Jungwon nag at her. Julia peeved many things but one thing that peeved her the most was getting nagged at.
"I'm like four minutes away calm down, Ni-ki had a date this morning so he ditched me." Julia argued back.
Jungwon giggled. "So, you're not important as his date then?"
Usually Julia would find joy in his teasing but after last night's incident, she couldn't help but get irritated.
"Yeah, I guess Sunghoon doesn't find me important either." Julia mumbled.
"Wha-?" Jungwon said but Julia didn't care to explain and hung up on him.
Julia picked up her pace as she saw that the time was now 7:54. She suddenly stopped when she heard a soft but deep voice calling her name. The voice she recognized as the person who she knew would be leaving abroad and her too. Not much to her surprise, she turned to see her boyfriend, Sunghoon.
"Someone's moody this morning." Sunghoon scratched the back of his head playfully trying to lighten up the mood.
Julia glared at him. "How could you not tell me about your moving, Park Sunghoon?"
At a lost for words Sunghoon sighed before he began to softly answer her. "I'm sorry Juls, I know I should've told you sooner but I didn't know how to. I'm sorry, I really am. My parents told me at such a short notice and I was just scared of how you would react. I don't want to lose you Julia."
The last sentence filled her eyes with stinging tears that she tried to hold back, but failed to at the sight of her worried boyfriend pulling her into a warm embrace.
Julia was the first to pull away. Sunghoon continued wiping the tears from her face with his thumbs as he caressed her head.
Julia sniffled. "Can we just act like a normal couple for our last day of school together? I don't want to spend this last day of school with you upset." She suggested to Sunghoon was staring at her with loving eyes.
"Of course we can. Anything for you Juls." He nodded in agreement.
Silence was one way to describe the rest of their walk to school. Their hands brushed against each other making Sunghoon look the other way.
Even though they have been in a relationship for a while now, Sunghoon was often still shy towards any physical touch they shared. In honor of today, Julia decided to take the initiative and took his hand in hers.
Sunghoon looked at her shyly, his eyes twinkling before giving her a quick peck on the cheek.
As soon as they entered the school doors, eyes immediately darted at them. Not in a bad way though. They were more like the school's power couple. The "perfect" couple in fact.
"I'll see you later, good luck on your final yeah?" She blew him a kiss goodbye and headed the opposite direction.
The bell rang as soon as Julia got to her classroom. She noticed Jungwon glancing at her as she walked in.
"Hey prick," She playfully hit him, slightly sticking her tongue out.
Jungwon couldn't help but laugh at her sudden change in mood. "Well someone's in a better mood".
"Don't you dare ask questions Yang Jungwon". Julia pointed at him with a tint of attitude in her voice.
Jungwon lifted both arms slowly like he was surrendering to an army of cops.
"Okay, no questions asked. I swear." Jungwon promised.
At lunch Sunghoon and his friends accompanied him to sit outside with Julia's friends. Usually Sunghoon would prefer sitting indoors, but the weather had warmed up, so it would be a waste not to.
"Heyyyyyyyyy," Sunoo charged to the table where Julia was sitting. He placed his plate down and scooted towards Jay so Sunghoon could sit next to his girlfriend.
Sunghoon finally arrived to the table, Julia was already watching him from a distance before he even arrived. How could she not?
Lunch was as normal as can be. Sitting with a huge group of people that she's known since she started primary school, made her feel so cozy. These were her people. Her home.
There were two more dreadful classes after lunch. Julia couldn't wait to go home, but at the same time she wanted to stay longer.
She was busy pondering when a finger tapped her shoulder. It was Jay.
"You good? How much sleep did you get? I didn't drop you off that late right?" Jay asked too many questions for Julia's current brain capacity.
"Yes, very little, no, does that answer your questions?" Julia replied.
"Hey hey, Sunoo told me what's happening between you and Sunghoon but you can't just take out your anger on me. I have feelings too you know." He grabbed his chest dramatically and pretending to fall backwards.
Julia laughed a little. "You're the most dramatic person I know Jay. And I'm sorry for acting this way. All moody and shit. I get it from my mother don't I?"
Jay paused for a moment, rubbing his chin. "No actually. You're more like Ni-ki. You guys may seem like opposites but you're really the same person inside. I mean you guys are both ice cold and unpredictable from the outside but actually the funniest, caring, and sweetest people I know." He shrugged like he was spitting straight facts.
Julia paused. No one has ever said or known the Nishimura sibling dynamic well enough to say they were the same. Not even the ones closest to her like Sunghoon and Jungwon. Everyone always thought they were polar opposites from the outside.
Jay clicked his tongue. "Let that sink in Nishimura."
