The sun rose on a new day in Unova, the sun beams lighting up the stained glass windows and coloring the room. One particular beam shone through right into the eyes of the young champion, forcing him to wake with a start. Like a personal alarm clock from Groudon, whether it was out of love or hate, he didn't know. He wasn't exactly a morning person. Nate slipped out of bed, and upon realizing what day it is immediately perked up. It was the 1st anniversary of him beating Iris, and becoming league champion! He quickly changed into a basic T-shirt and shorts, seeing as he would be changing later anyway. He swung his bedroom door open and ran down the hall excitedly. There would be a huge party, tons of people, and for one minute, he would be the center of the world (or, at least Unova). His thoughts were interrupted as he crashed into his assistant, Rosa. He crashed onto the floor, while she just teetered back before quickly regaining her balance. The brunette rolled her eyes as she helped him up.
"Sorry! I was just-"
"Running down the hall like a maniac? Even though I've told you hundreds of times not to?" She tapped on her clipboard impatiently. Even though she was the same age as him, she was wise beyond her years and acted like it.
"Aww, come on, Rosa! Today's a special day!" Nate chirped excitedly.
"Yes, about that, now, the celebration will take place at 6:00 sharp tonight, though pre-party activities will begin about say....4:00 or so, whenever the VIP's all arrive. We'll allow for say...two to not show up before we begin, is that ok with you?" He quickly nodded. "Good. Now, we'll have you sample the final dishes we have prepared, just some small things like roasted Golduck, smoked Magikarp- the works. Also, you have-"
"Rosa, do you ever take a break?" Nate sighed with a small giggle.
"I just want to make sure the end of your first year goes perfectly." She smiles happily. "Now, I believe you have some guests who will be arriving soon, so I'll talk details as we head to the gates, m'k?" Nate agreed.
No point in arguing this, he thought. They walked down the halls, Nate half-heartedly agreeing to just about everything she said. When they arrived at the gate she stopped and motioned for the guards to open them.
"Alright, this is where I'll take my leave. Don't forget, you have to come pick out the color of your tablecloths in an hour!" She smiled and ran off. Nate turned towards the gates and when the door opened, he saw the smiling faces of Hugh, Cheren, and Bianca. His mood perked even more and he embraced them in a hug, practically yelling "Hey!"
"You guys came!" He said excitedly, pulling away from the hug.
"Wouldn't miss it!" Hugh smiled back, going in for another hug. "I barely ever get to see you anymore!"
"I know, and I hate it too. But trust me, after this is all over, we can hang out as much as we want! Nobody's allowed to challenge me for a whole week!" Nate hopped back and forth slightly, not able to keep still. He turned to Cheren and Bianca.
"I'm so glad you guys came too! It's nice to see you!" He smiled.
"I'm glad we could! Besides, we kind of kicked off your journey, didn't we? I gave you your Oshawott, Cheren was your first gym leader, you know!" Bianca chirped. She fixed her glasses happily and turned to Cheren.
"Who knew my first challenger would go on to be champion, eh?" He laughed happily.
"Well, we only have an hour to talk, so come on!" Nate said, ushering them through the door. He turned to Hugh and gave him a fixed glare. "Just so you know, if you say a word about my champion's outfit, I swear I'll-"
"It's ok, I get it. Don't worry about it.......Princey." Hugh smirked. Nate was close to hitting him but instead snarled.
"IT'S BASED OFF OF MY OUTFIT FROM MYSTERY DOORS OF MAGIC LAND." Nate yelled, voice cracking.
"Nothing you said just now is a good defense." Hugh sighed. Cheren and Bianca nodded in agreement, Bianca looking a little guilty.
"Whatever...let's just go do something..." He sighed, clenching his fists.
"Um, by the way, is uh...Rosa here?" Hugh asked nervously. He had a not-so-secret crush on her, and Nate knew it. He laughed, nodding.
"Yup, but good luck getting her attention. She's so wrapped up in work you wont get 3 words in!"
"Er, right. Thanks."

Notes:
Wow, so this turned out better than I thought. I've had this idea in my head for a while now, and a friend recommended this site to me, so I thought I should at least give it a whirl. If this gets enough positive feedback, I'll keep it going. :)I'll probably start at least 5 works at a time, and will probably make a book of drabbles though, aha.
