JAYLA

"Hey, Damien, I'm at the library with no ride home. I was wondering if you could pick me up. "I guess.. I'll be there in five." I nod even though he couldn't see me and I hang up. Then I think to myself, 'how would he be here in five minutes if we live 15 minutes away?' He could be out with friends or something.

Just like he said, five minutes later and he was here. I walk over to the passenger side and get in, lightly closing the door. "Put your seatbelt on." I look over to see Damien already looking at me. "But, you don't even have your seatbelt on." He sighs out of annoyance. "Jayla, put the damn seatbelt on." The way he says my name sounds so foreign, yet it rolls off his tounge perfectly. I nod and do what he says not seeing any reason to debate.

We're almost home, and I realize I have no idea who this man is. "So, what do you do for work?" I ask hoping i don't sound stupid. He takes a quick glance at me before looking back at the road. "I'm the CEO for my dads company." I can't get over the sound of his voice, I start to feel heat in between my legs, so I cross them. "You don't talk very much." I state calmly.

"And you talk a lot" he replies back in an instant. My face grows hot and I decide to be quiet. "There's nothing wrong with that, I like to listen." He mentions this as if he feels my embarrassment. I nod my head but keep quiet. He sighs and for the first time, he initiates this conversation.

"How old are you?" I smile, seeing that he wants to talk to me. "19" I say happily. "What the fuck, you're a literal ba-" Before he can finish his sentence I cut him off. "I'm a grown woman, just like you're a grown man. I can make my own decisions just like everyone else."

I don't know where that confidence came from but he definitely needs to know. He gives me a slight nod and doesn't say anything else. "Besides, how old are you anyway?"

"I'm 24." okay, so he's just old asf. Got it. As we're pulling up at the house Dimitri's car is in the very large driveway. Damien let's out a sigh and gets out the car, I do the same. As we step into the house, Mitri is sitting on the couch eating chips. "fat ass" I mutter as I walk by him and sit on the other couch.

He glares at me but doesn't retaliate. "So have you guys kissed yet?" Now it's my turn to glare at Dimitri. "What the fuck, why would we kiss?" Damien answers before I do. "She's not my type, and she's too young." I decide not to say anything him letting us know i'm not his type is embarrassing.

I've been checking him out ever since I got here maybe I am the weird one. Damien looks at me, but not for long. His eyes shoot to my lips and then he looks away. "Dude, what is your type then?" Dimitri is clearly fed up with his friend not finding anyone attractive. "Don't have one."

The doorbell rings and Damien goes over to answer and when he sees Alexis his shoulders tense. "Who the hell are you? Why do people enjoy just showing up to my house unannounced?" Damien grows angry but he doesn't lash out on her.

"Uhm, I'm Alexis, Jayla's best friend." When Dimitri hears her voice he immediately turns around and smiles. She sees him and invites herself in. Giving me a hug before going over to him. "Help yourself" Damien mumbles. He goes into his room and shuts the door.
