After the café meetup, the trio made their way back to their respective homes. The sun had dipped below the horizon, leaving behind a trail of amber and crimson hues that painted the sky. Sumire walked alongside Suna and Kita, her mind wandering to the situation with Takahashi. She debated whether or not to bring it up, the weight of the secret pressing heavily on her shoulders.
'Should I talk to them about Takahashi?' she wondered silently, her gaze lost in the distance. As they walked, the evening air grew cooler, wrapping them in a gentle embrace. Yet, as much as she wanted to share, something held her back. A small voice inside her whispered to wait.
'I can tell them tomorrow evening, after practice,' Sumire decided, resolving to gather her thoughts and find the right words. With a nod to herself, she bid farewell to Suna and Kita at the station, the echoes of their goodbyes lingering in the cool night air.
As she slipped into the comforting confines of her room, exhaustion tugged at her. She climbed into bed, pulling the soft blankets over herself, her mind still racing with thoughts. Sleep eventually claimed her, carrying her away from her worries for the night.
The next morning, the sun filtered through her curtains, painting her room with gentle rays of light. Sumire stirred awake, reaching for her phone on the bedside table. As her eyes adjusted to the brightness, she noticed a series of messages waiting for her, causing her heart to skip a beat.
The first message was from Bokuto-san:
**Bokuto-san:** *Suma-chan, last night while we were heading back to the dorms, Sakusa-san told Atsu-chan and Osamu-kun about what happened in the afternoon. But don't worry, they promised they won't say a thing to Kita-san and Rin-chan. Take care.*
Sumire's heart sank a little as she read Bokuto's message. The thought of others knowing about the incident with Takahashi filled her with a mix of relief and anxiety. The reassurance that Atsumu and Osamu had vowed to keep it a secret offered some comfort, but the reality of the situation still loomed over her like a shadow.
She scrolled to the next message, this time from Atsumu-san
**Atsumu-san:** Sumire, why did you not say anything? You know you are important to us. Your safety comes first. You should have told me. And please, tell Suna-san and Kita-san because this is going to be really hard for them. You know how much they love you. So please tell them. And if he ever comes anywhere near you again, LET ME KNOW! UNDERSTOOD?
A lump formed in her throat as she considered the weight of keeping them in the dark, knowing it was only a matter of time before she'd have to confront the truth.
She sighed, clutching her phone to her chest as she lay back against the pillows, staring at the ceiling. The sunlight danced across the room, and she closed her eyes, feeling the warmth on her skin as she gathered her thoughts.
'I should have told them sooner,' she thought, guilt threading through her conscience like a persistent echo. She quickly sat up on her bed and texted her friends to meet up at the usual spot half an hour early, once they replied positively she got ready and waited for her friends. As she saw them coming, her nerves gave up and she started sweating.
"yo sumire, whatsup? " suna san asked her, while kita san stayed silent waiting for sumire to talk and not presuuring her
Sumire looked between them, her heart racing. She felt the weight of her words pressing down on her, but she knew she had to say it. "I wanted to tell you guys something, but promise me you won't get mad?" Her voice wavered slightly as she spoke, and she directed her gaze at Suna-san, knowing he might take it the hardest. "well no promises but we can try "
