Another group meeting got by, as always, you were playing with your friends and as always, you guys go home together
« Wow, it's raining like crazy outside »
« Satoko, let's share an umbrella »
Rika gently poked her friend
Satoko nodded « alright ! I guess keiichi was too dumb and didn't get an umbrella!»

« I'll probably take my car to go home— » Mion blurt out, as keichi was raging at Satoko, of course everything was just to make her laugh.
« Argh ! Won't you give me your umbrella Satoko?!»
« Nope, as you can see I'm sharing with Rika !» she hugged Rika and stuck her tongue out to keichi

« ARGH!! »
Rena poked his shoulder
« I can share mine Keichi kun.. do you want to go home together.. do you?»
« Rena ! My saviour !! » he exclaims
Rena mutter to herself
« sharing umbrellas with keiichi...hauuuu !!! »

The ruckus ended and everybody headed back to their houses , you included, you did have an umbrella and like everybody, you were walking the path you took everyday to go back home.

You passed the shrine, and something catches your eyes. A girl, about your age was standing still under the shrine's roof thingy (behind the donation box)
She kinda was just staring in the distance
You remarked her because of her odd clothing. Was she waiting for the rain to pass ? She'll probably catch a cold !
You hesitate a bit.. then your inner hero wins
You're dressed for cold, she's not. You'll lend her your umbrella.
One thing was weird, you don't remember her, hinamizawa is a small village, small enough for you to know a bunch of people.
Probably vacations at her grandparent's..

You go up the stairs and approach the girl, who glanced at you slightly but didn't move nor talk.

You try to engage

"Uh.."
She doesn't look at you
" Uhm.. please don't stand in the rain like this, you'll get a cold."
She jumped on her feets and looked at you like she had seen a ghost
" E-e-e-eh-!? M-me ? Wait.. me?!"
" Yeah you, don't stay dressed like that, you'll get a cold !"
You lend her your umbrella
" Are you from hinamizawa ?"
She hesitantly answers
" I.. uh..Well yeah! Sorry.. don't uh.. I'm alright !"

"I insist."
Her face was as red as a tomato
Now that you see her up close, she looked like she was wearing a shrine maiden costume, like the one Rika was wearing for the festival. She had weird hair pieces, looking like horns.
Is it cosplay?
While you stared at her she continued to shake her head around like she was embarrassed as hell
" Hauu..hau.. hauuu...."
You smile at her
" Don't be embarrassed, I'm just lending you the umbrella"

"B-but you— "
" It's alright, I'm not made of sugar I won't melt !" You smile at her, leaving your umbrella on the ground for her

" On that note.."
You put your bag above your head to shield you a bit from the rain, and run back to your house
The mysterious girl watched you in awe
Somehow she felt warm and fuzzy.
She hesitantly takes your umbrella and proceeds to walk back home too.

You were going back home, you didn't hear nor did you had any clue on who's the girl you met under the rain. You passed the shrine again... Your umbrella was left there, on the donation box, completely dry

" ......th.......thank you......."
A voice behind you could be heard, you turned around and......

No one.

Must've been just you.

From now one you've been waiting under the shrine every rainy day, you just wanted to see her again.
Sometimes, you hear pitter patter of somebody following you.

But it's probably just the rain

" I'm home"
" Hanyuu where the heck were you "

Only the moonlight lit the room, Satoko was sleeping. Hanyuu closed the umbrella she was holding

" I uh.. I had a little walk."
" Did you just steal an umbrella.." Rika looks unamused
" No! Not at all! A kind person lent me theirs- i was surprised that they could see me.... I think it's one of your classmates"

Rika stares in "I don't care" and gets back to her beloved bottle of wine
" I was about to eat some wasabi but you got here just in time"

"Hauu....."
Hanyuu whines

Rika says in a calmer tone
" You're happy that somebody showed kindness, don't you?"
"W-well, yeah I am! I'm.. thankful.. and I feel warm and fuzzy"

Rika stares
And grins
" Oooooohh... So i see how it is..hehehe....... "
"Hau! I don't know what you think and I wouldn't like to!"
