Andrew couldn't believe it, he was trapped and surrounded by a whole lot of people he did not know. Yes, this all started out as a promise of a job that paid better than his previous job. With the way how the gate is locked for the entirety of six months, Andrew had his doubts that he'll even last that long, and with the strangers around him seeming not to know what to do during a situation like this, except for probably a few people, neither would they.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" One of the girls, Paige cried out, "What am I going to do?! What if I was the first one to be transformed? It would be terrifying!"
Liberty rested her hand on Paige's shoulder, "Paige! It is going to be alright. Yes, I believe that whoever it was speaking on the TV is serious and hellbent on turning us all into objects. However, I am here for you."
"Thank you, but that isn't reassuring." Paige sighed, still in tears.
"Girl, we are going to get through this, and probably escape from this hellhole. There has to be an escape route just in case shit like this happens!" Liberty wiped Paige's tears.

Suddenly, Melanie cleared her throat, "I don't believe that there is any other way out other than the gates. My stepfather had designed this lab to keep as little exits to the outside world as possible. I am sorry if I am just telling you the truth, I know that the truth hurts." She then sighed.
"You bitch! You have gotten us into this shitshow! Now you have to fix this! This is literally scaring my brother!" Perce shouted.
"Percival, I know that you're looking out for your brother, but stop projecting the blame onto me, I did not intend on trapping you sixteen within the gates. I was going to let you sign a contract that will forbid you from telling anybody about this, and that you'll still be able to explore the outside world. Alas, the bitch that I call my sister doesn't trust anybody with our secrets. I'm sorry if I cannot do anything to stop whatever sick game that person is planning, but all I can say now is enjoy being human while you still can and try, no, do your best to survive while I try to find a way to rescue you all. If any of you survive, may I compensate you and your loved ones?" Melanie sighed, "And if you fall, do you mind if I compensate your loved ones?"
"How much are you considering compensating?" Tanaya smirked.
"I am saying two grand would be enough. Which will be 32 grand in total." Melanie sighed.
"Oh, that's good to know." Tanaya smiled, hiding the fact.

"Wait, survive until aid comes or the six months are up? Whatever comes first, but, still, have you seen the OUTSIDE?! Objects have been roaming all over Deerville, so even if we survived, we would still be in DANGER!" Baylor shouted.
"My best friend makes a great point, we're better off within the big walls only accessible by a gate, than the outside world where there are objects, psychopaths that want everyone to be an object, and a psycho Pillow that'll kill us all!" Nikolas scowled, "Baylor and I had lost a loved one because of those damned disappearances!"
"I have lost both of my cousins, who knows when my aunt will be affected, either before or after me." Karolyn scoffed, adding to the conversation.
"I'm sorry for your loss, but Nikolas and Baylor does make a point, we're better off in here." Melanie sighed.
Pashtilda then interjected, "I hate to break it to you all, but if we're going to stay for a while, how we are going to take care of ourselves. What are the living arrangements like?"
Melanie sighed, "There is a years supply of non-perishable food, and a few weeks supply of perishables, replenished every week of course. It is enough to feed 25 employees, counting management. Also, there are living quarters upstairs, like I said earlier, I hope none of you mind sharing the same bathroom. This lab doubles as our home, and I don't think you want to use neither mine in the basement or, Heaven forbid, Melody's in this floor." Melody looked at everyone, "If I were you, I would pick the people who would be rooming with you for the next six months."
"Damn it! I don't know who I am going to pick, I don't think that there'll be co-ed... the thought of that scares me!" Karolyn shuddered.
"Don't worry, hopefully, there is a balance between- wait, to make sure, guys sit at the table at the left; girls, table at the right!" Melanie pointed at the tables.
Fortunately, there were a 1:1 gender ratio, which meant that nobody has to share a room with the opposite gender.
"Thank goodness, sharing a room with a guy is disgustang!" Karolyn scoffed.
"Like, I say the same as well!" Babe giggled.
"Shut!" Karolyn scoffed at Babe.
"Like, no you!" Babe giggled.
