"Okay, so are you telling me your ex has been barging into the safety of your home and watch you sleep? What the hell? That's fucking creepy, Cole!"

He also never failed to leave me breakfast but I didn't tell them that. Ayokong mas palahikin pa ang issue.

I waved my hand dismissively. "I got it. I'm not afraid of him."

Jethro shook his head disapprovingly and shifted in his seat. Andito kami ngayon sa restaurant ni Calum para e-celebrate ang birthday ko. As planned, I wanted a simple dinner with my only friends, Jet and Silver. I would have invited Leyton if he wasn't so busy convincing his wife to at least like him-poor guy.

"But you are bothered enough to tell us," bwelta ni Jet at sinulyapan si Silver sa tabi ko. He pursed his lips as if contemplating something. "Isa lang ang solusyon sa problema mo, Cole."

Umangat ang kilay ko at bahagyang natawa sa seryoso niyang mukha. "Let's hear it."

He glanced at Silver again who was also waiting for what he has to say and then looked at me with all seriousness.

"You have to marry someone else. In that way, it would be legally impossible for him to force himself into your life..."

I almost choked on my wine. I stared at his serious face. Surely, he's joking?

I laughed awkwardly. "Who would I even marry? I'm not exactly dating anyone if you haven't noticed." I said to try to make light of the situation.

"Me," he said with conviction, pointing a finger to himself. "Marry me, Cole. I don't mind if you don't love me. I just want to save you from that asshole."

Sumulyap ako kay Silver na nagulat din sa narinig. She pursed her lips, looking anxious and stared at me.

"That's not a good idea," umiiling na sabi ni Silver. "Kai will not stand for it."

"Well, fuck him! He doesn't get to dictate Nicola's life!" Nafufrustrate na bulalas ni Jethro.

I nibbled on my lip and traced my index finger on the rim of my wine glass. Pinakititigan ko si Jet. He was handsome and he'll honestly make a good husband. I don't doubt he'd be loyal and loving because that's just who he is. Pero ayokong itapon niya ang pagkakataon na makapangasawa ng babaeng mamahalin siya dahil lang sa hindi ako nilulubayan ni Kai.

And to be honest, I can't even say for sure if I wanted him to leave me alone anymore. Sa loob ng apat na buwan ay nasasanay na ako sa kanya. I even take note of his race schedule so I know when not to expect him but he always was not gone for more than a week. Somehow, he always made sure to get back to me as soon as possible. I don't know how he even did it with his busy schedule.

Lumalambot na naman ako. I can feel myself falling into the same trap again. But then again, nakalabas ba talaga ako? How is it falling in again if I never really fell out?

I reached for his hand across the table and squeezed it. "You're a good friend, Jet, and an even better husband to someone who deserves you. I don't want to drag you into my mess. Let me deal with it okay?"

He stared at me for a moment, still looking a bit frustrated before he nodded reluctantly and sighed.

Sa totoo lang ay natatakot din ako para sa kanya. Kai told me he was going to break his hands if he ever touched me. Lalo pa kaya kung magpapakasal kami? Isa pa, hindi lang tinuloy ni Kai iyon dati dahil na distract ko siya ng husto. He was fine as long as he had me.
