Ever since I was young, I had never once imagined a day where my own world would come crashing down all in the name of love. My life was always, 'Love is a fairytale' and 'My prince charming is coming,' but it wasn't until today I knew that those were just fairytales and would always be.
Growing up, storytelling was always part of our family's life, it was our family's tradition. It was how we expressed ourselves and the world- the beauty and the dangers of the spherical globe, but maybe the storytelling got too tangled in my brain that I forgot how to tell stories and reality apart, so my life ended up being a story- just a tale to tell.
"The sun reached its hands down to the little girl and said to her, 'When I go down by dusk and rise up again by dawn, I wish to see you here,' but the quick-witted girl immediately replied with 'No, I won't be here. Won't be walking this earth anymore.' She was bidding premature goodbye to her celestial friend." My mom finished reading the book and ended the night with forehead kisses.
'When I go down by dusk and rise up again by dawn, I wish to see you here.' Was that the moral of the story? Or was the moral of the story the fact that that little girl would be me, no longer walking the earth like I promised?
I guess we'll only know when the sun rises by dawn.
