You know how the magician says, 'Abracadabra' and something disappears? This time, I really wish it was me who disappeared, instead of those adorable little rabbits because you know the officer who was jotting down my 'story' at the station? Yeah? He told my dad everything!
My dad is actually an officer of higher rank in that station and had features similar to Officer Johnson in my dream. And now, he just finished the last line at my house! My living room for crying out loud! This man really had to come to my house or my dad's house to snitch on me! Grr, I'm so mad.
With a tear in his eye, my dad turned to me while laughing out loud, "Is that true honey?"
I scrunched my nose in disgust and rolled my eyes. I glanced over at my mom, secretly hoping she too wasn't laughing... but she was. She tried to hold it in but eventually gave up.
Cranking up alongside the dudes. She paused to look at me, "That's the best story yet!" she joked, then burst out laughing. She then asked, "It's really funny, but all jokes aside. Who's Caleb?"
"I don't know..." I shyly answered, wondering why Caleb was the only character that stuck out.
"Nevermind love, I was just wondering if Caleb was made after your classmate."
"No, he wasn't!" I immediately denied it. I looked down, fiddled with my finger before mentioning that Caleb already had a girlfriend.
"Oh, that's such a shame." my mom pitifully consoled me, but my dad and his friend didn't have the decency to let me be so they commented,
"That explains why you made Caleb up, ahhahahahhaa"
I was starting to get hurt but my mom gently squeezed my hand, "Don't worry honey, we all go through that phase."
I was about to smile, thankful that one person finally understood me, but my mom's next words only fueled my anger.
"Especially with the you blushing on the bus part, haha." she wiped the tears off.
Having had enough, I stood up and asked if they were done cause I was heading to my room. They looked at me, then themselves before nodding slowly.
I scoffed before stomping off.
Mr Leonard waited for my door to close before turning serious,
"Sir," he stood, showing respect, "I know it's fun to joke and laugh about it but yesterday after your daughter left the station, I got the news that there was a killer on the loose with the same name and last name as the principal in your daughter's story."
My dad became dumbfounded,shocked at the revelation. Him and my mom shared contact before bringing out their badge from their pocket and holding it to their chest, their way of saying, "We're on the job."
