"Toru?" You headed back inside the gym. You were waiting for Toru outside, as he was busy hitting serve after serve after serve. You then heard your brother screaming. "TORU!? Are you okay!? What happened!?" You were concerned and running to aid your brother. "Iwaizumi-san, please help him!" Iwaizumi rushed in after hearing your plead for help. "What happened!?" Iwaizumi asked, his voice showing his concern.
"It's fine. I was just practicing and then I felt a sharp pain in my ankle. I should be fine though." Toru quickly explained.
He attempted to get up, but failed miserably. You and Iwaizumi quickly caught him before he fell to the ground. "No, you've sprained your ankle. We need medical attention, now. We're bringing you to the infirmary immediately." You said attempting to calm down both yourself and your brother. "Iwaizumi-san, could you please help me bring him there?" "Of course."
~Timeskip to when you are back home~
Your mother was scolding you rather than Toru, but that was nothing new. After a few hits, she left to check on Toru. You sighed as you sat down on your bed, initiating your thoughts. 'Maybe he started panicking and overworking himself once he knew that he would have to go against... him.' You heard Toru's door close. You went over to your brother's room to talk to him. You knocked softly. "Toru, it's Itsuki. Can I come in?" "Yeah." He replied. You opened the door to see Toru with his leg up, resting. "I'm sorry. I won't be able to participate in the practice match, hehe..." He laughed awkwardly. "It's fine. Just came to check on you. Please stop overworking yourself, Toru. You're going back to your old self." You said, then left the room. 'Please don't hurt yourself more, Toru. Please.' you prayed in your head.
You drifted off to sleep. Soon, the awaited day came. The match between Aoba Johsai and Karasuno. But to your old teammates, we saw it from a different perspective. And Toru had a different one as well. We then saw the one and only 'King of the Court'. The genius setter and old rival of my brother's. As setters, their competitiveness was high. What felt even worse was Toru was barely standing his ground even though he was 2 years older. That old rival being Kageyama Tobio.
The game started. Due to Toru's injury about 1 or 2 weeks ago, he wasn't able to play. At least in the beginning. Eventually, we both had 1 set, leading us to a third set. Toru was put in at the end of it. He started demolishing them. Aiming at their rookie 1st years, earning multiple services aces off of them. We were tied, at a deuce. They took a point from us, putting them at match point. I then saw the 1st year quick attack. Amazing. Even Toru was impressed.
The match ended. Karasuno being the winners.
