Obsidian Heart (Steven Universe AU x Male Half Gem Reader)

Prologue

[During the Gem War]

The Crystal Gem rebellion were handling an onslaught of foes from Homeworld. The Crystal Gems had enough members to call themselves a small army but were unfortunately were overrun by the forces of Homeworld. The four leaders of the rebellion (Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Rose quartz) saw how backed up into a corner they were and decided to resort to plan B. They stood four points apart from another and started to synchronized dance with one another, forming into Obsidian the Mega Fusion.

Obsidian looked down towards the battle field and let out a primal screech, striking fear into the homeworld gems. Obsidians second mouth opened and spewed lava onto the homeworld enemies, poofing them with their unique lava. She then slammed into the earth, knocking away any remaining gems that stood in her way. The enemy retreaded as Obsidian continue to spew flames all over the place. Lava seeped into the earth as Obsidian started to slow down, watching as the rebellion cheered for her.

Suddenly there was a ray of light, blinding Obsidian and cause her to unfuse. The ray of light shot towards the Crystal Gems, causing Rose to act fast and use her shield to protect the four of them. The rest of the rebellion weren't so fortunate as they were caught by the blast of the ray of light, causing gems to be shattered or corrupted. The ray of light glowed brighter and brighter, blinding everybody.

[5,286 Years Later]

The once barren battlefield was now a beautiful and bountiful strawberry field filled with big juicy strawberries. The very peaceful area was soon disrupted by loud honking and a swerving car driving over bushes of strawberries. A women was on the roof waving her arms and cheering while a man was holding a airhorn while driving. The two unsuspecting couple bumped into a crystal platform and swerved out of control. They screamed as they spun around and crashed into an abnormally large strawberry.

The women on the roof groaned as she stood up, hoping off the car. "Damnit Gerald, you HAD to ruin the moment." She opened the driver door and stared at the man known as Gerald. Gerald hissed in pain as he got out of the car, looking at his surroundings. "Where are we? This doesn't look like Paris." He looked at the giant strawberry they had crashed into. "Why is the fruit so damn big!?" Karen groaned as she held her head. "Shut up, cant think. Gotta eat." she walked away.

Gerald rolled his eyes, continuing to look around. Karen walked around looking for strawberries to each, even though there was a bunch around her but no, being the picky woman she is decided to look for the "perfect strawberries". Which is dumb but I digress. She notice a strange bush of strawberries and due to her curiosity decided to inspect the bush. The bush was a charcoal color wile the strawberries had orange lines flowing through them. Karen picked a strawberry and decided to eat it. Much to her disappointment, it still tasted like a normal strawberry but more bitter.

Karen sighed and continue to eat the strawberries. Unexpectedly, Karen felt a pair of arms wrap around her waist. "I looked around and there's no one around for miles~" Gerald whispered in Karens ear. Karen giggled and they entered a heated makeout sesh.

One passionate hour later

The couple laid on the grass breathless. "That...was great" Karen sighed as she grabbed another off colored strawberry. She had grown attached to the berries. "Umm babe..." Karen look over to Gerald who held up a broken *ahem* deflated balloon. "...WHAT THE FU-"

[6 Years Later]

A young Y/N was currently drawing on the floor. He picked up his drawing and smiled, taking the drawing to his mother who laid lazily on the couch. Y/N handed the drawing to his mother and beamed a smile. Karen took a glance at the paper and ripped it in half, shattering Y/N's heart. "Get me another beer..." Karen hissed as Y/N walked away sadly. After Y/N was born, his father left soon after, leaving karen in a state of depression. Karen continued to scroll mindlessly through her phone, she stopped on a post from her old friend. The post showed a man who was washing a car with his son. Karen noticed the gem that was on the sons belly and glanced at Y/N, looking at his gem that was on his chest. It was a Obsidian gem.

Gaining a idea, Karen grinned and got up, startling Y/N. "Pack up your things, were going on a road trip!" Karen grinned wider, sending a chill down Y/N spine. Few hours of silently driving. they made it to a city called "Beach City". The car pulled up to a car wash and Karen dragged Y/N out. "Now where is this lazy bum?" Karen whispered and she looked around. She started banging on the van parked nearby. "You in there Greg?" Karen shouted, Y/N was too busy watching a butterfly.

Suddenly, the vans back door burst open and out fell a man with large amount of hair. Y/N looked at the sudden noise and noticed the man named Greg. Greg lifted his head up "Huh? Oh! Hey karen, its been for-" "Yes, yes i know its been awhile, missed you too. whatever." Karen cut him off. She picked up Y/N and lifted his shirt. "Look! Same gem as your son! Take him." She practically threw Y/N to Greg. "Wait what! Now hold on a mi-" "Thanks a ton!" Karen (again) cut him off and drove off, leaving dust and making Y/N and Greg cough.

As the Dust clears, Greg clears his throat and puts Y/N down. "Well...that was...an unexpected surprise. She'll be back...right?" Greg looked down at Y/N and smiled. "So your like Steven, huh?" Greg said changing the subject. Y/N looked up at greg and smiled subtly.
