Good Morning!

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Ashton groaned. He tossed himself over to lay on his face, shoving his hands under the pillow and pushing the material up to cover his ears. The mind piercing screams of the alarm clock were muffled now. He took in a deep breath of the clean, almost sterile scent of the new pillow that lay atop his mattress.

God, moving had been a bitch, the boy begrudgingly remembered. Always was, but this time was even worse. Ashton and the bit of family he lived with had to shove all of everyone's stuff and their cats into the dusty little denim-colored van they had and drive all the way over to this new house. They slept in their van in a grocery store parking lot for one night.

At least he'd been able to go out and steal a bag of skittles when they parked an hour or so before closing time. He did switch the tag on the pants he bought for a cheaper pair, too. What could he say, he was resourceful and sly. Couldn't get around being a loyal Slytherin, his house type was damn right from those BuzzFeed quizzes.

Ashton grumbled as he remembered transphobia when he thought of J.K Rowling. Who the fuck even allows their child's initials be J.K? Hopefully nobody himself or his brother had in any classes was gonna be like Rowling, except for the good writer part.

It had only been three days since that whole moving fiasco, and eight days since school had started. At least Ashton and his brother had gotten that three day break in his second school week, and got to move schools too. The last school sucked. Despite being a freshman, he'd already known so since elementary, middle school, and high school were all connected in the same building, just with one side of that school being Pre-K through 5th and the other being 6th through 12th. At least now he wouldn't have to deal with dumb middle schoolers.

He reached his hand over and punched the blaring alarm clock until he found the right button which made it shut up. He wasn't used to an alarm clock yet, usually his mom just came in each morning and yelled at him until he eventually rose.

Ashton debated committing arson on the school today before taking his other hand out from under the pillow and stretching out his limbs lazily. He turned over and sat up, also grabbing his glasses and shoving them onto his face groggily.

After a minute or two of staring around his room, thinking of how he would clutter it up in the new house, Ashton yawned and stood. He walked over to the corner he stored all his clothes in, and rummaged through the various baskets he'd placed on the floor. At least he'd managed to get some money via online art commissions and was able to buy his own baskets to organize his clothes better.

Boxers and socks, pants, overshirts and jackets, undershirts and other tops, more pants...

Ashton looked through his various baskets before picking out an outfit he knew damn well he would feel like a hot bitch in. Of course it took several minutes more than required since the boy had too many damn clothes, but that's why he didn't give himself 20 minutes to get ready for school in the mornings anymore.

Ashton shut his bedroom door and slipped off his clothes to change into the new ones rather than some ugly ass pyjamas, like he was wearing. Uuuugly.

He got on his boxers, then a black turtleneck. He slipped on some black pants with two big pockets in the side and two more on the legs - nicknamed "snatch pants" by his mother, due to their good ability to "snatch, pocket, and go." He grabbed a worn out graphic tee he got from the thrift store off his chair and put it on over the turtleneck. It was a brownish-black shirt with a chipped, goldish print of a bike on it, and some fairly deteriorated words circling the print on the bottom. Harvey Bikes Inc. He finished by putting on his socks, which was the only correct last step in his mind. Unless he was too tired to give a shit about all order, then he'd forget later anyway so there was no point in remembering how he usually did anything.
