After what felt like so long, the group learned of what Ozpin, or should I say Ozma, had been hiding from them. The truth of his reincarnation cycle and the burden he carried weighed heavily on their hearts, and the knowledge of the fact that Salem was immortal added to their despair.
Team rwby was angry at Ozpin, feeling betrayed by his secrecy and the gravity of the situation they were now entangled in. On the other hand, V, Johnny, and Kerry understood that Ozpin had made difficult choices in order to protect humanity, even if it meant keeping secrets. They recognized the immense responsibility he bore and the sacrifices he had made for the greater good.
"Professor..." Ruby spoke, "What is your plan to defeat Salem?"
"I... don't have one..." Ozpin admitted.
Suddenly, Qrow let out a yell and punched Ozpin in the face, sending him into a nearby tree trunk.
"what the fuck Qrow!" Kerry exclaimed.
"No one wanted me... I was cursed... I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world... I thought I was finally doing some good..." Qrow said with remorse.
"But, you are!" Ozpin said.
"Meeting you... was the worst luck of my life..." Qrow said.
V eyes widened in shock by those words, not expecting such a strong reaction from Qrow.
Ozpin only stared back in disbelief upon hearing Qrow say that, before looking down, dejected.
"Maybe you're right..." Ozpin said, accepting the harsh truth of Qrow's feelings towards him.
Just then Ozpin's eyes glowed giving Oscar control of his body.
"What happened?" Ruby asked.
"He's... Gone," Oscar said.
"That bastard! Tell him we're not done yet!" Yang yelled in anger.
"No, this is different. He's gone. It-- It's like he's locked himself deep inside my head. Our head?" Oscar said before he started grunting in frustration. "I hate this! I want it to stop!"
"He just left us?" Weiss said.
"What are we gonna do now?" Blake said.
Johnny in the mists of the chaos, walked up to Qrow and spoke, "Qrow..."
As Qrow turned, Johnny punched him with his silver arm, causing Qrow to stumble back in surprise.
"What the hell, Johnny?" Qrow exclaimed, rubbing his jaw.
"you seriously think Ozpin would throw you out like a piece of trash?" Johnny replied, his eyes burning with anger. "He needed your help more than ever, and what did you do? You treated him like he was the villain! Ozpin believed in you, Qrow. He trusted you!"
"You're taking Oz-" Yang could say till her prosthetic arm suddenly punched her in the stomach, making her gag a bit. "what the? What's going on with my arm?" she said, looking at her prosthetic arm in confusion.
"I did," V said, as he used his cyberware to hack into Yang's arm. "You may not believe it, but Ozpin trusted me too, and I know it was real, not some manipulation like you think. He knew the risks, but he believed in us all." Yang's eyes widened in shock as she realized the depth of Ozpin's trust in both Qrow and V.
"Enough!" Maria shouted, breaking the tension. "We need to get move on. It'll be dark before we know it, and every one of you is spewing negativity!" she said, helping Oscar up. "There's a trail over there, trails usually lead somewhere."
"Lady, I don't know who you think you are but--" Yang could say before Maria slammed her cane.
"No buts! I understand that you're upset. Honestly, I'm still coming to terms with the fact that this is humanity's second time around. But, if we don't move, we die. And I'll be damned if I've lived this long just to die out here in the cold!" she said.
