It's been a week since Joe spent the night. He and I have been spending a lot more time together which made me happy, he really is a great friend and I'm almost completely over Austin which is good.
It is finally finals week, I've done the majority of my exams already and they went pretty smoothly. The only exam left is astronomy. Joe was in my dorm studying with me, he sat at the desk and I sat on my bed.
"Do you understand any of this?" I ask with frustration.
Joe looked over at the page of the textbook I was on, "You're looking at quantum physics which is a subject we have not and will not touch in astronomy." He flipped the page over to what I was supposed to be studying. It was constellations, stuff we went over in the beginning of the semester. I looked over at Joe who looked like he was struggling.
"Joe," he looked over at me when I called his name, "do you want some help?"
"Please." I taught Joe the differences between the constellations, by the time we were finished it was late and we were hungry.
"I really want some wings right now," Joe said randomly.
"No fucking way you just read my mind," I chuckled, "who's driving?"
"You are, I like riding around in your Bronco," he smiled, his smile was beautiful. Why am I thinking these things about Joe? He's just my friend. I pushed the thoughts out of my mind and grabbed my keys. We drove to Wingstop and sat inside to eat.
"You eat wings like a barbarian," I say while I watched him eat.
"Says you," he joked.
"At least I don't have sauce all over my face," I joked back.
"At least I have the balls to eat hot wings."
"Hey man," I laughed, "Don't hate on my garlic parmesan wings."
"You sit and enjoy your bland wings."
"You are sweating. Maybe you should've gotten bland wings."
"Shhhh," Joe giggled as he chugged his water.
"Do you feel ready for the final tomorrow?" I asked once our laughter died down.
"Pretty much," he said after eating a couple of fries, "I need to look over my notes from the beginning of the semester and then I'll be good. Are you ready?"
"I studied constellations in my free time when I was at SCAD, I painted them a lot too. Luckily this is something I understand." Joe reached over the table and wiped the corner of my mouth with a napkin keeping eye contact with me while he did. The action caused me to have butterflies in my stomach, no one's ever done that. His eyes were so mesmerizing, he was just a beautiful person. I blushed as he leaned back into his seat, he smiled.
We sat and talked about miscellaneous topics, it was midnight when we left. We rode around in my car listening to music, laughing, talking, it was so refreshing. The night unfortunately came to an end and I was in the parking lot of the boys dorms.
"I had so much fun with you," I say as Joe gathered his things.
"The night doesn't have to end," he replies. It was a little off putting to me, but I trusted Joe, "I don't have a roommate so you can spend the night here."
"Is your bed big enough for the both of us?"
"I'm 6'4", I need a big bed," he chuckled, "Come on."
I parked the car and followed him without a second thought. Spending the night with him isn't something that happens all the time, it's been a week since the last time anyway. We got to his room and his bed took up most of it, watching him throw himself onto the bed made me laugh. He looked up at me as if he was waiting for me to crawl into the bed with him so I did.
"Did you push the two beds together to make a queen?" I giggled.
"No roommate means both beds are mine," he shrugged with an unashamed look on his face.
We lay there for a short while before he got up and turned off the lights. He held me closely the same way he did the first time, I felt so safe in his arms
