Vera Lou's best friends appear in this chapter and their names are Clementine but everyone calls her Clem and Jaylee!
Vera Lou Kelce's pov:
"Vera time to get up!!" I heard my mom yell from the hallway. "Ughhh." I said as I rolled over to the other side of my bed, shoving my face into my pillow. "Come on baby it's tournement day!" She said all excited. "It's so early though." I said dragging out early. "Vera it's 11 am." Mom said with a slight giggle. "Whatever, it's still too early." I got out of bed while glaring at my mom. "Too early." I said shortly as I walked by her to get to my bathroom.

"Vera are you almost done?! We have to leave like right now!!" My dad hollered from the bottom of the stairs. "Yes, just one sec!" I said as I grabbed my volleyball shoes and bag. I set a quick text to Clem and Jaylee to see if she was ready. I am a outside hitter and Clem is a setter while Jay is a libero so thats how we met. Clem and Jay are my only friends that havent used me just to get to my parents, we actually have a bond and she isnt toxic to me like my other "friends".

Me: Hey guys are you ready? we are leaving rn!
Clemmy: Yup! Just putting my shoes on.
JayJay: Yes, waiting outside!

"Seriously Vera we have to go right now!!" He shouted again. "I'm coming!!!" I yelled back and jogged down the stairs.

"Ahhhh clem!!" I said excitedly when I saw her come out the front door. "Ver!!!" She yelled and I jumped out of the car to hug her. We havent seen eachother since January and its now August, because of my parents tight schedules and Clem was on vacation for 2 months in Jamaica; and yes I was very jealous because my parents never go anywhere. "Omg I havent seen you in forever!" Clem stated and I giggled. "I know, I missed you so much!" I hugged her again. "I missed you too." She said and we climbed back into the car. "Hey Clem!" Esme said. "Hii Es! Hey second parents!" "Hi clem it's so good to see you again! Vera was miserable." Clementine giggled and talked with my parents for a bit. We drove to Jay's house and right when we pulled up I saw Jaylee smile and laugh. Right as the car stopped me and Clementine jumped out and sprinted up the long driveway to Jaylee. "JAYYY!!!" I yelled and Jaylee jumped running to us too. "AHH I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!" Jaylee said as we reached eachother and hugged so tight I dont think any of us could breathe. "I LOVE YOU TOO!!" Clem yelled. "ME TOO!!" I said and we ran back to the car as it started to rain.
We are now at the tournament and we all jumped out of the car, cameras immedietly going up and people gasping. Another thing I love about Clementine and Jaylee is that they never cared about the cameras, all my other friends did. Heck even I care about them. Clem didnt come from a very wealthy family and we never made fun of her for that. We were rich and she wasnt, so what? We always bought the stuff she wanted that her mom couldnt. Her mom was always at work and was never at home, but I dont blame her for that. She is working 4 jobs just to support her, Clem, and her little brother. I didnt see him often but he is the sweetest and cutest little guy. Anyway we are walking in the place now and going to check in. "Okay you girls go warm up, we are going to find somewhere to sit!" "Okay mom love you guys!" "I love you guys too!!" Clem and Jay said as we ran off to go get ready.
"You ready to kick some butt guys!?" "Heck yeah i'm ready!" Clem said "Oh im ready!!" Jay hollered and we got onto the court. "Vera, Jay, Clem come here real quick!!" My mom yelled and we went over. "Pose!" We did a pose and she took a cute photo of us.
