Ivy spun around the chair in her study table as she was trying to think of an essay that she would write for an assignment.

A notification buzzes from her phone, it was a text message from Laine.

"Miss you pookie" she sent with a little emoji with welled up eyes. "Pookie, teleport here, now! Anyways, how's it going there?" Ivy replied, Laine started typing.

"Girl, 8th grade is way too scary now" she said. "Why?"

"Well first of all, my other half isn't here. Second of all, Pat is still here and still tryna be friends with Wayde."

"Ew."
"I know, right?"

Back n' Forth

You were difficult, hard to read
The things about you, I couldn't see
Sometimes, you're friendly
Sometimes, you're out of sight
At some point I assumed you were a two-faced parasite
In my mind, you'd always linger
Despite the fact that I can't touch you even with the tip of my finger
There isn't a book in the shelf that I haven't re-read
No word in the dictionary that I haven't said
Yet you're there, a puzzle I can't solve
You're such an angel, that's what people know
You're such a mysterious gem, that's what your attitude can show
But I hate you, your presence stops me from breathing
I can't move, I can't speak properly
You don't even care
I'm like everyone else, waiting for your stare
Your light is so pretty but it's also blinding
Maybe I'm just not the one that you're wanting
When you see me, the attention I give
Is it a moment that you want to re-live?
Or do you wish that I'd disappear
I know that you see right through me, it's clear
