𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 summer break had rolled around, and a certain pair of friends decided to excitedly spend their first day of summer break at their secret hideout-the playground.

They had finally become middle schoolers a few months ago; both were jumping for joy once they realized they could attend the same school.

"Kazuha, look."

[name], with a cheeky smile plastered on her face, presented a certain device in her hand towards the male. Kazuha's eyes widened in surprise, an identical expression of joy spreading across his face.

"Mom and Dad finally got me a phone!" She exclaimed ecstatically. After months of begging, they had finally offered to buy her the device-although on the condition that she could only call and message.

[name] opened up the phone, the flip phone just a tad bigger than the size of her palm-the pastel pink case almost too childish-that it could accidentally be considered a toy.

"Here!" She handed the phone over to Kazuha, snatching his device-a phone all the other adults used-and quickly tapping in the numbers she memorized by heart.

Understanding, the boy did the same. Gently pressing the digits onto the device, he quickly saved his number and named the contact 'Kazuha.'

However, it seemed she was not reserved about naming herself on his phone. An abundance of emojis had accompanied her name, causing him to sweatdrop at her childishness.

"Oh, and I brought this too!"

Oh dear-[name] was quite full of surprises today. Kazuha watched in curiosity as she shifted through her pockets, her tongue cutely sticking out to the side as her hands continued to search.

"Ah!"

She shoved a pair of phone charms into Kazuha's view. He watched in wonder as she held them in her palms for him to see.

"I have a white cat and a black cat!" [name] explained carefully, pointing to the respective chains. "Here, you can choose first!"

Kazuha hummed in thought, honored to be offered such a joyful dilemma. In the end, he ended up choosing the white cat, explaining how it reminded him of the very feline that resided in his home.

The two of them attached the charms without a moment of hesitation, placing their devices side-by-side in satisfaction.

"We match." Kazuha smiled contentedly, watching as the charms blew in the wind.

"Promise to keep these on forever?" The girl mumbled, voice suddenly quiet in the serene atmosphere.

The boy answered in a heartbeat. "Forever."
