Chapter 5. Softening

3rd person P.O.V

The search party had been walking for a whole day, following the rabbit along the train tracks. The ponies were very tired and their legs were starting to fail.

"Tia... Everypony needs to rest. Let's take a break." Luna suggested, walking next to Celestia

The tall Alicorn nodded, and the group of ponies all dropped their bags a bit far to the side of the train tracks and they all sat down.

Celestia caught the rabbit, putting it back into the glass jar and tucking it into the pack on Luna's back.

The two princesses put down their bags and sat a little farther than the rest of the group, just out of ear view.

"What if we don't find her Luna..?" Celestia muttered, her eyes starting to water, "What do we do then?"

Luna brought her older sister into a hug, wrapping her wings around her comfortingly.

"We'll find her sister, I promise you that."

Celestia cried deeply into her sisters embrace. Twilight was her whole world, her own daughter!! Not that anypony knew that though..

Celestia sniffed and wiped her tears, sitting up straight in order to lower the sun for the night, Luna adjusted her position aswell and assisted by raising the moon.

Most of the ponies in the search party fell asleep within minutes, they were so worn out fron the whole day of walking. Celestia however could not sleep, so she asked Luna to cast a sleeping spell, and then she finally laid down to rest for the night.

Sombra's P.O.V

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I sat on my cold throne in the largest room of my dark crystal castle. I still had alot of work to do regarding making my own empire, but I couldn't stop feeling guilty for how I treated that unicorn.

I had left her alone in that cell for a day. I got up and made my way to the dungeon steps, slowly going down and  entering the cell room.

She was curled up on the floor in the middle cell, wrapped in the blanket I had made her. I smiled softly, and then stopped myself. Why did I smile?? I shook it off.

"If you're here to hit me again just get it over with.." I heard her say softly, as she sat up and turned to look at me

Her mane was a mess, and she had dark circles under her eyes.

"I'm not here to hit you." I said, walking over to the door of her cell

I took on my shadow form to phase through the cell bars, and then returned to physical form again.

I put my hoof up to the unicorns cheek, she flinched and shuffled away. I sighed, looking down and placing my hoof back on the floor.

"Look.. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you. Just, let me heal it okay?"

I looked into her eyes and her expression confused me, it was a mix of fear, and confusion and what seemed to be disgust.

I tried to heal her again but she put her hoof out to stop me from getting closer

"Don't fucking touch me!" She yelled, her breathing starting to get faster, "If you didn't mean to hit me, then you wouldn't have! So get the fuck away from me!"

I growled, smoke emanating from my eyes, I raised my hoof but then stopped myself.

I looked into her eyes as she expressed pure fear. I was about to hit her again...

"I... I'm sorry..." I muttered, and then I turned into a shadow and left the dungeon entirely. Only returning to physical form once I had reached my throne room again.

I wanted to immediately go back and check if she was alright, I don't know why though. But I couldn't, I cannot let a singular unicorn get to my head.

I went over to my throne which had a pile of papers sat next to it, it had towns and empires that I could target to brainwash some ponies. I sat down and started to go through them.

Quickly switching to Twilight's P.O.V

I was sat with my back pressed fully against the cold stone wall behind me. Sombra apologised, and held himself back.

I still don't forgive him for hitting me yesterday. Twice!! And he was going to hit me again, but he didn't..

I suppose that was nice of him, he is probably just trying to trick me though. I won't give in, he will have to break me..

Hey everyone, I am so terribly sorry that I haven't updated in a while, and I'm also sorry for how short this chapter is.

I've been dealing with some things in life, and also been struggling with some writers block, but I tried my hardest.

I hope it's alright, and that you enjoyed it. I will try my best to write the next chapter, but please bear with me.
