There once lived a father who deeply loved his son and wanted him to receive the best in everything. Determined to provide this, the father decided to send his son to a renowned scholar who lived far from their town.Although reluctant to part with his son, the father sent him to the scholar for a few days, providing everything necessary for the journey.
The journey was long, and upon arrival, the son found the scholar extremely busy, making it difficult to meet him immediately.After a long wait, the son finally got to meet the scholar.
Upon entering, he introduced himself and expressed his desire to learn from him. The scholar listened and then requested him to wait for another hour due to some unavoidable reasons. Before sending the son off to wait, the scholar handed him a spoon filled with water and instructed him to be careful not to spill any.
Understanding this as a test, the son focused entirely on the spoon. After an hour, the scholar called him back and asked what he had noticed around him during the wait.
The son could only mention the obvious, having been preoccupied with the water.The scholar smiled gently. "It's important to be careful and diligent, like ensuring the water doesn't spill," he said, "but it's equally crucial to appreciate and enjoy the surroundings and experiences life offers. The palace has a beautiful garden with many colorful birds, and the architecture is one of a kind."
He emphasized the need to balance life, work, family, studies, and enjoyment of one's environment, teaching the son to seek happiness and be fully present in every moment.
