But Natsu is Strong

Chapter 7

Lucy sat next to Natsu's bed and watched him intently, tears slowly trickling down her red cheeks. Happy laid in her lap sleeping as tears also occasionally left his eyes. He was stressed for his companion and scared he would never wake up. Lucy could feel Happy's worry and fear as it contributed to her own.

Natsu was still laying on his stomach, bandaged and sleeping. He was slightly pale which worried Lucy to no end. Sleep would not come for her even though her body craved it. She couldn't until she knew for sure Natsu would be okay.

Morning...

As the sun peaked into the window of the infirmary, a knock was heard on the door. Lucy rushed over to it and opened it to reveal Porlyusica.

Lucy: *crying "Porlyusica, thank goodness. Please you have to help him."

Porlyusica: "Calm down child, that's why I'm here."

Porlyusica made her ay to Natsu's side. She began examining him and using magic on him. What felt like an eternity to Lucy, Porlyusica had finished and went over to the tray of gem-like rocks and examined them. She spent the most time with them never revealing her face to Lucy. 

Lucy sat anxiously in the chair next to Natsu's bed as she store holes into the back of Porlyusica's head waiting for any information at all. The door was greeted with another knock, it opened and Erza, Wendy, and Gray walked in. 

Erza: "Porlyusica! I didn't know you had arrived, is he okay?"

Wendy: *teary  "I'm so glad you're here, Natsu is going to be okay right?"

Porlyusica: *sigh  "In all honesty... I don't know."

Everyone Else: "WHAT!?"

Porlyusica: "I'm not sure what these gems are, but I know they are dark. They give me such an awful feeling. They have really done a number on him, he's extremely weak... I can't believe he's not dead."

Lucy: *rage crying  "BUT IS HE GOING TO BE OKAY?! WE KNOW HE WAS IN BAD SHAPE AND WE KNOW THAT THOSE GEMS ARE BAD NEWS! I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF HE'S GOING TO WAKE UP AND BE OKAY!"

The room stared in shock at her outburst. Erza searched Lucy's face and understood what was going on with her. She was scared and stressed to an unbelievable level. She just wants to know is he is going to live.

Porlyusica tore her eyes away from Lucy and back to the gems.

Porlyusica: "I don't know... His body is incredibly weak, he has no magic right now, and his wounds are very critical. On top of that, you had someone inexperienced with medical treatment remove the crystals. I don't know what kind of damage that has done to him. From what I can see, Natsu might never wake up."

Lucy stared wide eyed at the elderly woman. Her heart sank so deep pain built in her chest like she was being drowned. Drowned by her own sorrow. Tears fell from her eyes at an incontrollable rate. Screams started rise to her throat, that was until Happy spoke up.

Happy: *sobbing  "B-but he could wake up... r-right? There's a chance N-Natsu will wake up?"

His body shook and he cried big sorrowful tears. Porlyusica turned back toward the group and down at Happy sitting in Lucy's lap. She stared into him sadly for a moment before nodding.

Happy: *sobbing  "T-then Natsu will wake up... a-and we can make him better."

Erza: *teary  "Happy is right. Natsu will get better. Now we need to get him back to Fairy Tail."

Porlyusica: "Are you crazy?! He's in no condition to be moved."

Gray: "He won't get better as long as he stays here... He will only be able to recover when he's home."

Porlyusica examined the room, the fairies were unwavering in their determination to take him home. She knew she couldn't change there mind, and deep down she felt they were right he would do better being where he belonged.

Porlyusica nodded as she turned back to the gems. 

Erza: "Me and Gray will head to Fairy Tail. We'll bring a car and some more help, the rest of you are to not leave his side."

Wendy, Carla, Lucy, and Happy all nodded. 

3 hours later...

Erza and Gray stepped off the train in Magnolia. There was a gloom that held over them, this whole situation was unnerving and terrifying. Someone could do all that damage to one of Fairy Tail's strongest and those gems radiate danger. 

For now they knew what mattered, all these questions could wait. The only thing that mattered was making sure Natsu was okay. The two had finally made it to the guild doors, they entered and the whole guild was sitting around quiet. They were waiting anxiously for them to bring any news about Natsu.

Makarov: "Tell me Erza... did you find him?"

Erza: "Yes we did master."

The guild shifted anxiously and slightly relieved. 

Mira: "Is he alive?"

Gray: "Barley."

Horror struck the guild.

Laxus: "Barley? What does that mean?"

Erza took a deep breath and began explaining the past events. When she finished the guild was deathly quiet, they were shook and heartbroken.

Lisana: *teary  "So what are we going to do?"

Erza: "We are going to bring him back here. He won't get better if he's not home."

Romeo: *crying  "I wanna go, I want to help bring Natsu home!"

Makarov: "We don't know much do we?"

Gray: "Afraid not, they just left Natsu there so we have no clue who's behind this or what their plans are."

Makarov: "I want him home. Laxus, Gajeel, Juvia, Mira, and Elfman. You will go with Erza an Gray to retrieve Natsu. Max send word to Gildarts about what has happened."

Erza: "I'm going to go rent a magic vehicle big enough for everyone. Gray, Juvia, Mira, and Elfman go get animals to ride next to the vehicle we have to make sure he is protected."

They all nodded and headed out.

Makarov swallowed hard. To think Natsu of al people would be in such a state. I fear this is not over.
