The last four days had felt like hell for me. Without my wife, the days were frustrating, and the nights were cold. My blood ran cold every time I thought about living without her.
Finally, I could hold her in my arms again after what felt like an eternity.
She shyly wrapped her arms around me, burying her face in my neck.
While everyone laughed at my impatient behavior, I couldn't care less, I was simply overjoyed to be with my wife again.
After our reunion, we watched the wedding rituals, holding hands tightly.
Memories of our own wedding in the same mandir began to flood my mind—how we met, how everything started here, every bittersweet moment of our journey together.
I glanced at my wife, who was completely enthralled by Advik and Juhi, while I admired the sparkle in her eyes.
When the wedding concluded, the sky erupted with fireworks, the loud bursts making her flinch and gasp.
A smile spread across my face.
She was like a ray of sunshine in that moment, and I wanted nothing more than to pull her close and kiss her.
My control was hanging by a thread, and I was on the verge of breaking it.
I walked over to the newlyweds, holding my wife's hand, and then pulled out some cash, moving it around Juhi and Advik—not in an emotional gesture, but to mark the occasion that my brother had finally found his love as well.
"You both look beautiful together," I said, turning my head towards my wife beside me. "But not more than us." I pulled her close, brushing my nose against her cheek.
She laughed shyly, and at that moment, I felt like the luckiest man alive.

After Advik and Juhi bent down to touch Maa and Baba's feet, I walked towards them, gently pulling my wife with me.
"Maa, Baba," I began, catching their attention.
Their eyes were slightly wet from tears.
"At this moment, I want something from both of you." I glanced at Sanjh, who looked as confused as her parents. "I want us to live together."
"Wait, wait, wait," Advik interjected, stepping between us. "That was my decision. I'll live with Maa and Baba."
"Huh? What? I decided to keep them with me a long time ago. I was just waiting for Juhi's marriage," I said, narrowing my eyes.
"That doesn't matter. I told you first, so I'll live with them."
"No one cares about your decision. Step aside, I need to finish this conversation," I said, pushing him aside.
"Hey, it's my day. I'll ask for whatever I want."
"Advik, your day is over now. Step away, I'm in a serious conversation."
"Look, Maa and Baba, tell him you'll live with me—"
"Advik, shut up."
"Maa Baba, he is cold and rude. Tell him you both will live with your caring, gentleman, sweet son-in-law," he said, moving toward Baba and placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Sanjh, ask your brother to shut up," I said, glancing at Sanjh, who looked on in confusion.
I turned back to Maa and Baba, holding their hands. "The gap of love and care in my life was filled because you gave your daughter to me. But now, in her life, there is a gap of her family. No matter how much I love and care for her, I will never be able to fill that gap completely. So, I'm pleading with you—please don't leave your daughter alone."
"Whoa, Juhi is their daughter too, and she'll be sad without her parents," Advik interjected, once again derailing our conversation.
I rolled my eyes in irritation. "And Sankalp, stop manipulating Maa with your sweet words, just like you manipulated my innocent Sanjh."
What the hell?
I looked back at Sanjh, who was staring at me with wide, confused eyes.
How dare he accuse me of manipulating his sister?
"Advik, don't make me lose my temper. Or should I remind you that you're not as innocent as you seem? How about I tell Maa and Baba how you met Juhi—"
Before I could say more, Advik rushed over and placed his hand over my mouth. "Fine, fine, fine—shut up," he said.
I smirked and jerked his hand away.
"What's going on?" Sanjh whispered awkwardly into Juhi's ear.
Juhi shrugged in confusion.
"Dekho beta, aisa nahi hota hai. Hamara ghar yaha hai—" Baba began.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, Baba, I know about traditions and all. But who cares? Your home isn't just where you live, it's where your family is. I can live anywhere with your daughter because she is my home, not just four walls of concrete. How can you live without your daughters? They are your family, you can't live without them. Okay, Maa, tell me, can you live alone here without your daughter?" I asked.
"Tonight, Juhi will leave, and I'll only leave after taking you with me. And if you deny, be ready—I'm moving here, into your house, because I don't care about anything. I'll live here and annoy you both," I declared.
"Lekin—ham kaise—" Maa tried to speak.
"Please," I pleaded, cutting her off and holding her hands. "Please, Maa."
I can say I'm quite skilled at manipulating my innocent in-laws, they can't say no to their elder son-in-law, and I'm using my position well.
They looked at each other and then at their daughters.
I turned back to Sanjh, whose eyes were glistening with moisture.
I blinked at her in reassurance.
Finally, Maa and Baba gave their consent.
Thank God!
Advik was still whining in front of Sanjh, complaining that I stole his idea of having the whole family live together and how he made a mistake by telling me about it earlier.
Well, I had already planned this from the start—there was no way I was going to let them stay apart from their daughter, no matter how much they insisted.
