I hate first days of school I especially hate when everyone is staring at me I have to make new friends learn my way around a new school and there is no one that looks like me there for me to relate with- FML
Today, I started school in a whole different country because my mother, being an absent parent, sent us here. Her children were too painful a reminder of her deceased husband. She went off with the man she cheated on my dad with. I couldn't even wear the uniform pants because she got the wrong size, and they flooded. The skirt was too short in the back, so I just wore straight-leg jeans instead. The house wasn't bad; it was nice but empty.
I went and knocked on my little sister's door. She's going to elementary school down the street. my older sister left already for work "Keri, you ready?" I asked. "Almost, I can't get my hair right," she replied. "You need help?" I opened the door. "I can't do it," she said as she sat in her Princess and the Frog chair. "How do you want me to style it?" I asked, wetting and detangling her hair. "A twist crown with a ponytail." It didn't take me long to do her hair; it was just two flat twists going into a ponytail. I added a bow above her ponytail. "Can you grab your bookbag and put your shoes on?" "Yes," she answered.
After walking Keri to school, I started on the way to my new school, dragging my feet, not really wanting to go. I would skip, but they have someone waiting to show me around and would definitely call my mom if I didn't show up today. Once I got into the school office, I started to get goosebumps. It's awkward coming to school in the middle of the first semester, and when everyone's looking at you when you walk in, it's one of the worst things ever. The lady at the front printed out my schedule after someone showed me around the whole school.
The teacher was in front of the class with a boy standing beside her. "You must be Sunni Chery. I expect you all to greet them with a warm welcome," she said. There were barely any girls going to the school, and only three in the class. "Say hi to your new classmates, Bum Seok Sunni ," she continued.

(That night)
My first day wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I made friends with the girl who sat in front of me, named Moon Dong Eun. I was too tired to cook, so I opted to order out. Keri was playing with her dolls while we watched a movie. As soon as the doorbell rang, she ran to the door, and the dogs and I followed after her. She has a problem with opening the door because she just wants to say hi to everyone.
"You can't keep opening the door; you don't know who's behind it," I reminded her. It was the delivery person. He looked familiar, and then it clicked – he was in my class. Dong Eun said he's always asleep. He was kind of fine now that I could see his full face.
"Aren't you the new girl?" he asked.
"I don't kno—"
"Sunni, right?" he interrupted.
I was about to lie, but he caught me before I could. I swore he was asleep the whole class. How'd he know my name?
"Yeah. Keri, can you grab my wallet off the counter?" She left after that.
"Do you have any water?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'll go grab some," I replied. But right when I moved out of the way, he came in. Excuse you, sir. I looked at him crazy as he walked himself into the kitchen, nosy as hell.
"You have a nice house," he said.
"Thanks," I replied, following him. Before I knew it, he was on the ground with three dogs on top of him. That's what his nosy self gets. I started laughing; they were all in his face licking him, and they weren't small either. Huey is a pit bull, Riley is a Cane Corso, and Rummy is a Rottweiler.
"Down, get off him," I called for them once I caught my breath. He got up and fixed himself up. I grabbed his water and the money since Keri disappeared. When I came back, they were playing with the dogs.
"Don't you have more orders to deliver?" I asked.
He nodded and handed me the food. "Here you go," he said.
I handed him the money and water. "Thanks, bye," he said as he left after downing the whole water bottle. That was way too long of an interaction just for an order.

I know this first chapter was kinda bland but it'll get better as the story goes so bear with me 🙃🙃🙃
