Ch¹⁹ no more secrets

Little giggle left his mouth after finding a funny sight. Making his steps toward the table, he peek at the other side.

"Boo!"
"Argh! You caught me again oppa!"
Yu-jin: haha, see I won again! (He rested his hands on his waist while the little girl pout folding her arms)
Y/n: that's not fair
Yu-jin: losers words

But everything went silent when suddenly a scream spread all over the area. The brother turned to follow the noise but got stopped by her sister

Yu-jin: y/n...

The door opening followed by the angry father leaving it and walking downstairs. Four eyes followed him until he disappeared. He yanked his hand from her grip and ran upstairs.

The room is dead silent and dark. Calling his mother, he walked into the room but froze on his way after finding blood streaming down from the head of the figure sitting on the floor, beaten.

Yu-jin: Eomma!!
Mrs. Kim (biological one): yu-jin? Honey a-are you okay?
Yu-jin: e-eomma! You are bleeding!

The 13 year old girl ran inside while carrying a first aid kit. Handling the first aid to her older brother, she sat next to her injured mother who just smiled through her pain and patted her hair.

Yu-jin: argh! Why? Why eomma? Why do you suffer all this?
Mrs. Kim: just for you my dear
Yu-jin: how can you think that we will be happy when you are in pain! Please divorce appa (anger flows through the 15 year old kid)
Mrs. Kim: I-...
Yu-jin: if you can't then I will talk to father.

Closing the box, he let his anger take over him and walked out ignoring his mother's words.

Mrs. Kim: y/n, my sweetheart. You will listen to your eomma, right? Please take care of your brother and father. Your father loves you so much that he can't love your mother anymore. It's my swear to you, you won't go against your father for me...

Present Y/n's narrating past

That day, everything changed. My life just turned upside down. That day, the argument between father and brother heated and he accidentally made oppa bleed after that he was immediately sent to the hospital.

Eomma was furious and they again had an argument. I was shivering as my father kept on breaking things but soon the argument stopped when I started crying.

A few days went dry. Me and Eomma used to visit oppa at the hospital. He got discharged after 2 days. His left eye was graved with a scar. Despite being the one who is injured, he still takes care of eomma. But then one day. As we walked into the house, eomma's dead body was taken out.

What happened? I did everything that eomma said. I never oppose what my father said. I will be all quiet seeing oppa fight and arguing for eomma. Eomma said if I broke her promise then she will die but I never broke her promise then why did she died...

But things went even crazier when after 4 months of eomma's dead father married another woman. Oppa was devastated so did I. Among us, he was the one who was deeply in grief when eomma died of heart stroke.

He couldn't accept her as our mother, so one day.
