Chapter 13

It's been couple of days, Jungkook noticed Taehyung avoiding him and he actually knows the reason. It's irking him a lot. He glared at Taehyung and thought, "Didn't see anything, my ass. He definitely saw it, otherwise he wouldn't be avoiding me."

Jungkook closed his laptop and walked over to Taehyung, who was working on his laptop. Taehyung was so focused on his work that he didn't notice Jungkook approaching him.

"What are you doing?" Jungkook asked, startling Taehyung.

"Whoa hyung, you scared me!!"

Jungkook chuckled, "Sorry, I didn't mean to. Anyways, what's this?"

"A college project. The deadline is in few days." Taehyung answered, turning his attention to his laptop screen.

"I see." Jungkook stood there, watching his husband and then asked suddenly, "So, why exactly are you avoiding me?

Taehyung stopped whatever he was doing on his laptop and looked up to see Jungkook.

"Um...what do you mean?"

Jungkook rolled his eyes, "Don't play dumb, Taehyung. You exactly know what I mean!! You think I didn't notice you avoiding me when I should be the one doing that. Wait–no why should I avoid you?! It was just an accident!!"

"Hyung...I'm sorry. I thought avoiding you wouldn't make you feel embarrassed."

Jungkook sighs, "Taehyung, it's the complete opposite. You're making it more awkward by avoiding me."

"Sorry hyung, I didn't want to make it awkward between us." Taehyung said as he looked down.

"Taehyung, you don't have to apologize. It's fine now, we have talked about this and now everything is settled. It won't be awkward between us anymore. Let's move on."

Taehyung looked up and nodded, "Yeah, got it hyung."

Jungkook smiled and opened his arms, "So, a hug?"

Taehyung got up from his seat and wrapped his hands around Jungkook.

Just as Jungkook was about to pull away, Taehyung playfully asked, "So, it's okay if I see you again like that?"

Jungkook's eyes widened, "W-what? No-"

And Taehyung burst out laughing watching husband's reaction, "Oh my god hyung, relax. I was just joking. I wish I could have taken a picture of your face. It was hilarious."

Jungkook rolled his eyes and playfully pushed away Taehyung, "Yeah, very funny."

"No for real hyung, you should have seen your face." Taehyung kept laughing and Jungkook couldn't take his eyes off of him.

At that night, something shifted in Jungkook.

Taehyung and Jungkook became a lot more closer after that night. Their friendship slowly blossomed into something more. They'd laugh at each other's jokes, they would bicker like old married couples and they would tease each other all the time, especially Taehyung.

Jungkook also got to know that Taehyung likes to cuddle at night. He likes to be the bigger spoon. At first, Jungkook was a bit shy when Taehyung cuddled him in his sleep but as the days passed he became comfortable with that.

Everything was fine between them for a while until that kiss happened.

It was a Sunday night. Both Taehyung and Jungkook freshened up before going to bed. Jungkook was about to slip into covers until Taehyung proposed an idea.

"Hyung, do you wanna watch a movie?"

"Movie? Right now?"

"Yes hyung, please don't say no!!" Taehyung pleaded, showing his puppy eyes and Jungkook couldn't say no.

"Fine, just one movie and then we're going to sleep."

Taehyung nodded, "Yes!! So what movie do you wanna watch?"

"You choose. Nothing comes to my mind right now."

"Okay then, how about The Notebook? It's on Netflix. I wanted to watch it but didn't get any time."

"Sounds great. I didn't watch it too."

With that they went to the home threatre room and settled into the couch. Taehyung then grabbed the remote and started the movie.

As the movie played, they both got cozy under the blankets. Both got so lost in watching the romantic scenes that they didn't realize their legs were touching.

When the lead characters shared a passionate kiss, both Taehyung and Jungkook looked at each other. Their heart skipped a beat. The tension between them grew as the movie continued playing. Slowly, Taehyung leaned in and captured Jungkook's lips.

Jungkook's eyes widened as he was surprised by this sudden move but he didn't pull back. Instead he melted into the kiss. He wrapped his hands around Taehyung's neck and pulled him closer. It was a passionate kiss. Their lips moved in perfect sync. They were so into devouring each other's lips that they didn't care about anything else. The movie was long forgotten too.

After a while, they pulled away from each other, gasping for air. Their lips were swollen from the kiss. As Jungkook was catching his breath, realisation hit him. He had kissed Taehyung. He pushed away the younger and slowly got up from the couch.

"Hyung...look at me." Taehyung said in a soft voice but Jungkook didn't dare to look at him.

"Hyung...what's wrong? D-did I do something wrong?"

Taehyung kept bombarding him with questions but Jungkook didn't answer any of those. Instead he took a few steps back and rushed out of the room, leaving Taehyung alone.

Taehyung didn't go after Jungkook thinking the older might need space. He turned off the movie and remained seated on the couch, his knees pressed against his chest. He sobbed thinking everything was awkward between them again. He messed up really bad. There were a lot of questions in his head.

How is he gonna face Jungkook tomorrow?

What will Jungkook think of him now?

Would Jungkook forgive him for what he has done?

Or does Jungkook think the kiss is a mistake?

Judging by how Jungkook reacted, Taehyung is now sure that their friendship is now over. Jungkook would end it for sure and Taehyung doesn't want that. He remembers the happy times they've spent together as friends. His mind was clouded with so many thoughts that he didn't even know when he drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Jungkook, who was already in bed,  couldn't sleep because of what happened earlier. He touched his lips, remembering how Taehyung kissed him. He also remembered how he left Taehyung alone without saying anything and he felt guilty. He shouldn't have left like that. He should have said something. He remembered how Taehyung looked,  searching for answers but look what he did. He just walked away. Now he made it awkward between him and Taehyung.

He sighed and tried to sleep, thinking that he will talk to Taehyung the next morning. He doesn't know how will he face the younger but still he will sort it out.
