ׂ╰┈➤This short story is derived from a poem 

I made about a year ago about a mother losing her son and seeing his ghost.

whales,

He looked me dead in my eye and asked me... if I liked whales. It was a strange way to start a conversation when a person is on the edge of a roof.

The child was a weird one. He was picky about food or textures when he had no shoes on and had mini panic attacks when something didn't go his way, i thought he was a brat. Until I understood.

He was unaware. He was in mental pain when these overwhelming things happened.

He didn't like crowds, he didn't like my homemade mac n cheese.

He followed me everywhere.

He wasn't a brat, he was feelings things that 'normal' people don't feel. He was in constant fear that he'd break down in a crowd and be stuck there, with no one to be there for him.

I was afraid for him. That he will end up like me. That he'll be the one on that roof.

I want to protect this child. I want to keep him safe. I want him to learn and be happy. I want him to have friends. I wanted him to swim for his dream and swim with whales

But nothing works that way. There are no happy endings.

Because my son is gone. And nothing.. Nothing can bring him back.
