I knew that none of them would start something in the middle of the mall but I was still scared.
"Luke, you are looking good. Marcus will be pleased to hear that."
"Where is he?" I asked barely audible.
"Oh he's close by. He was very upset when you ran away. We never could figure out how you escaped those caves." Good, that had been my plan. "You could save us all some trouble if you just come with me now." He took another step closer to us. Brice let out a growl and gnashed his teeth at the tiger.
"Our mate isn't going anywhere with you." Tony raised an eyebrow.
"I thought I smelled them all over you. Marcus isn't going to like that. You are his."
Brayden held me close. "He belongs to us, he is our mate."
"That's not going to stop Marcus. He's come for him and he's not going to leave without him." I buried my head in Brayden's shoulder near my mark. Assuring myself that I was mated, he was mine I was his and they'd never let Marcus near me. "I'll leave you to finish your shopping don't worry we're not ready to take him yet. I think Marcus is hoping that Luke will come back on his own. It's his cubs he's carrying."
"They are our children." Brice said stepping forward I could feel his wolf raising. "No matter their blood they are ours. I'll kill anyone who tries to harm our mate or our children.
"Pretty understanding if you are willing to claim cubs that aren't even yours, not even the same species as you. Luke you were always a good cub, you did what you were told and never made trouble don't let this start something that will get people hurt." I shook my head quickly.
"I can't, you know they won't be safe with him. He leads on instinct, you were always smarter than him. You know they won't be safe with him. I can't go back." Tony sighed. He knew I was right. Marcus might be his clan leader and best friend but he' knew who Marcus was.
"I can't help you Luke, you know I'm no match for him. All I can do is keep what I know to myself. We are everywhere in town watching for you. stick to pack land. Marcus won't cross the border."
"Thank you Tony." Brayden turned and hurried me down the hall. Brice waited for us to be some distance away before following us. I was shaking as we got in the car and headed home. Brayden held me close rubbing soothingly on my back.
"We won't let him harm you or the cubs. We'll die first."
"That's what I'm afraid of." I said looking up at him. "You are formidable but Marcus has let his tiger run things for a long time, he is powerful and he will not stop until I am back with him."
"We don't stand alone, we have an entire pack that will stand with us. You will be safe, and so will we." Brice said from behind the wheel. When we got back to the pack house we went straight to the alpha who was out back with Nate helping to train some young beta's. Brice told him about Tony.
"So he's not going to say he saw you?" Alpha asked me.
"No, he knows that I wouldn't be safe there, me or my cubs. Marcus' lets his tiger run things. His tiger will want to discipline me for leaving and for mating with some else. He could kill the cubs by accident. I don't think he'd intentionally hurt them since they are his but his tiger isn't always rational."
"Well at least we've got the heads up they are really here. As long as they stay off pack land I can't start trouble. The moment one of the strays over the border we can send the running. For now the three of you stay close to the pack house. I'll tell the enforcers to keep an eye out for any sign of them. Hows the cubs by the way?"
